  1. Damn, google works fast! Just googled it, and your reply was one of the first things on the list! Thanks I will ck it out. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  2. Nope. That sends an email [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  3. Wow its really coming along nicely Bob! Gonna look like a brand new rig once you're done with it. I'm worried about having to see it when its all done, as just seeing these half complete pics are giving me the urge to replace mine! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  4. After you're done repairing you may want to reinforce the area to help prevent the damage from recurring. Something like this: http://www.marinecarpeting.com/boat-par ... ector.html [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  5. Sounds to me like ibayitis. Generally afflicts pleasure boaters, but looks like its spreading. Very nasty affliction...causes poor actions and decision. I steer clear of the bay for fear of catching it after a couple close calls with those already infected. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  6. If you figure it out, let me know!!! The only ones I ever hear of are early in the season, shallow in the evening hours. Beyond that, they seem to be rather enigmatic. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  7. They will be long gone from the inlet by the time of the season opener [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  8. Yup that's the one! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  9. Okuma makes a nice leadcore/wire rod that's only like $35. Solid metal guides throughout. In fact I've starting switching over a lot of my boat rods to it, beyond just those with 'core...no more worrying about the guide inserts getting bashed and broken. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  10. Yes, often times you do have to remove the motor to get it at the correct angle, if its not a straight shot from the tube into the hull. Know that doesn't help per se, but you're not missing something obvious. Thats why I didn't change the cable when I upgraded the helm. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  11. Anyone make it out for this? How was it? [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  12. Interesting. Those are feeder streams for the allegheny river. Maybe something to do with the fact that much of the river is on tribal land so directly stocking the river wasn't feasible? Btw, of course I'd be in for an MI chapter 69! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  13. If you can't find them already made up, iguana grafix does custom repro boat decals at reasonable prices [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  14. Chapter 69 huh? Is it coincidence that Lawtons record musky caught right here in NYS was 69 lbs (and change)? Or is it the musky gods trying to tell us something??? [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  15. I'm most likely in...havent missed one yet, but I agree depending on how the summer goes the dog days of summer could be tough and keep some people away. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  16. I think eduation is a good thing...especially if it cuts down the number moronic actions on I-bay...but then again, as they say, you can't fix stupid. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  17. +1. They will slow the outflow till it gets back to normal. By Aug it should be fine. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  18. Nope as long as your battery is in good shape. If it was a common issue someone would have designed a solution already, so don't sweat it [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  19. Rewire to the main battery. This is the standard setup, as your issue is normal. The sonar doesn't use much juice and the motor will charge it while running. For piece of mind most sonars will allow you to set a low voltage alarm to save you from getting too low...that said, mine has never gone off. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  20. A day off to relax? I thought that meant fishing for the ole Vet! happy birthday...may your wife not mind sharing you with the fish on this occasion! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  21. IIRC, a lot of batteries (including diehard) are all mfgr'd by one company, basically just the labels are different and all mediocre. interstate are made by interstate and have done me well for the price. Plenty of good reccommendations on them. Optima are the best but oh so pricey. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  22. Tough to be sure without seeing it in action but If both had the same line on and one worked and the other didn't then that's not the root cause, but could have exacerbated it. Were both boards running at the same angle out/back from the boat? Not enough angle down and/or back could be part of it. More likely, my suspicion is that your homemade board was not pulling hard enough 'out' to the side to keep the tow line taught, so the tow line bowed back via lure drag and the ring was effectively was at the furthest point out/back. A stiffer tow line might help somewhat but I suspect you need to correct the board. Just my .02 [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  23. All the way down to keep the water drained out of the lower unit, particularly when its exposed to the elements and freezing temps may be expected [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  24. Good luck [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
