  1. Alright so we start off with the chicken (or salmon) at one end.. The modern day chicken. What we know as a chicken, What we call a chicken. At the other end we have single celled archaebacteria, the first organisms ,the life in which all other life evolved from. Now those bacteria reproduce, some reproduce to make bacteria that are exactly alike them, some reproduce and their organisms by natural selection, mutations whatever are slightly different. Now these slightly different bacteria one day reproduce and OOPS! we have a multi celled VERY simple organism. and so on and so on.. Well now we are nearer to the modern day chicken (or salmon). But not quite there yet. We have a prehistoric bird similar to a chicken (or salmon) that lays an egg one day and by chance, natural selection, mutation, whatever; this bird is more like a modern day chicken. Then one day Mrs. Almost Chicken (or Mrs. Almost salmon) lays an egg and by evolutionary chance we have what we know as a chicken (or salmon). PS: This is for those of you who believe in evolution... If you don't dont pay any attention to me... I'm not going there.
  2. The egg came first... evolutionary fact.. same with the chicken
  3. you can stop when you have as much as you want in the water but having different reals with different amount is deffinetly better.. I have a 3,4 and 10 color set up. my 3 and 4's are usually run off boards for early browns our steelhead. my 10 is ususually run down the chute all summer long with a spoon (flash/fly is just way too much drag to run it effectively) as the fish get over 50-60 feet I have the michigan stinger divebombs at 5 colors then let the other 5 out.. after the core i send another 100 feet of line out to make sure it geta all the way down.. with a 4oz dive bomb, ten colors, and a 100 extra feet of line i figure i can get a spoon down 80-90 depending on speed. the one other thing i do is use a lare 9" striper float from redi-rigs once its out there.. send it another couple hundred feet and pop the rod in my tower. That way when a fish hits it it out of the way of all my rods and doesnt need to be brought in.
  4. well out that way is the shipping lanes.. they should be getting geared up with salmon (trout are already there) any time within the next month.. after that they will be starting to move in closer to shore with places like the trench and off the light house getting better.
  5. I like the Nylon and deal with the hooks later
  6. i guess the only real answer is where the fish are.. I have been running most of my sticks so that they down about 5 right now.. but thats just right now... Also in 20' of water a spoons with a 1oz snap weight 50 feet up the line with a 100 ft lead is down about 12 feet.... start with your surface sticks on the out side board... then do to sticks with a little wieght (1/8 - 1/4 oz) closer in.. then the spoons with snap weights on the inside.. of course this is for 6 rods, make sure your leads grown longer than 100 as you go past the spoon.. and as you either take / mark fish adjust accordingly.... and if the rigger bite is hot try flat lining rods off the gunnel parrellel to the water with about a 6 oz. snap weight.. figure you want to be 1.5x farther from the tip with the weight than achieved depth... ex. down 5 feet send about 8 feet out from the tip to the snap weight.. this is only accurate to about 10 feet... good luck!
  7. start working out deeper.. it could be 20-60 depending on the water temp.... do you have down riggers?
  8. if you run your boat at higher RPM's with a couple drift bags out it will run cleaner also...
  9. yea everything appeared the same.. I never looked at the exact diameter on the spool and compared them.. but we got 1000ft on a size 30 Okuma with backing no prodblem.. and it seemed to dive the same..
  10. I have had a chance to use this product and it is AWESOME.... feels more like heavy mono than wire...
  11. welcome richard..... and sorry to hear you are related to musky bob..... All that Adirondack ways of cooking must get old after a while
  12. Great Post.. Keep it up.. Get your self a back pack and a weekend.. there are plenty of great spots to float/fish in NY... if you ever are thinking of a trip north (watertown to the ADKs) send me a pm..
  13. I like boards.. I havent had much luck with walleyes off the riggers on Eastern Ontario eyes.. My boat is equiped with both inlines and mast.. but for walleyes I prefer the off shore boards equipped with the OR-18 release.. The offshores provide better hookups for the walleyes because of the constant tension..
  14. sorry richard all the rods are sold... if you go on ebay you can buy them from fishing tackle grab bag ...
  15. call henchens marina in henderson harbor.. they have the 57's and like billy said work very well... I use 1000ft of 50lb power pro.... 10 colors of 27lb and my leader and fit comfortably...

  17. I was in Nigril a few years ago and a guy took me out trolling... He was at the bouys yelling in to see who wanted to fish..... I would figure $10 an hour per person would be good... and tell him you will throw him extra if you catch fish.. (I think my guy just took me for a boat ride) where are you staying
  18. thanks for the replys.... but i got a set over the weekend
  19. So there we were in 8ft of water.. picking up for the day and all of a sudden.... An 8ft ROGUE wave came out of nowhere and took land shark off his feat ......... there was about 2 feet of water in the back off the boat and Mike was drenched from head to two.... I think thats why they call him LANDshark.... Georges (Good Times) 2008 30ft sportcraft took in without a problem though... Congrats Liquid Plummer
