  1. I also use 30lb Maxima, stuff is awesome. Run 30lb wire on your divers 1/3 the depth down as you are back, 300 back 100 down, 150 back 50 down on a 2 setting, approx settings. 1000 ft will fit your 47 size reel perfect, wrap the spool with electrical tape before putting the wire on so it doesn't spin.
  2. You have to watch the big Jon when you run two 47 size reeks and up next too each other they space them close together so when you pull one rod out it could catch another and you could lose it. I believe the triples are the worst just something to be aware of
  3. I have tracks ( 12 inch) and have no problems, cannon 6 inch swivels you definitely want to back them. Cisco has new tracks built superior to all others and they also have track backing available as well. http://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.com/shop/track-systems-5194 I run the old vectors with 13lb torpedo's
  4. Cisco are by far the best rod holder compare features and you'll see why, the offer unlimited mourning options, custom option, personalized customer service , different colors, check them out.m
  5. There is, the HDS units have settings for what type of fishing you do as well. slow trolling, fast trolling etc.
  6. You'll love them they are great. I have tubes, cradles and an electronic mount on my boat, flat out the best.
  7. The Cisco s way better than the ram. I had 4 ram products on my boats one broke and one wore out and two I replaced. I have pics of the Cisco electronics mount that I'm using with an hds 8 it's awesome. For just a few dollars more you get quality aluminum construction with lifetime Warranty. You mounting it in your walk around?
  8. You can add a rail to your gunnel then add just about any rail mount system you want. I run Cisco's with a quick disconnect system on my 21ft Ranger. Cisco are by far the best rod holder on the market period, infinite adjust ability and lifetime warranty. http://www.cabelas.com/boating-hardware ... ls-2.shtml http://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.com/s ... ounts-5208 They have both tubes and cradles you can get the rail mounts in doubles, singles or triples. I have a ton more pics let me know what you want to to see or what you want to know. Your triton may be similar to my Ranger. Here is my setup
  9. If you want to keep two units on the boat I would upgrade the 125 to a HDS-5 then install a 83/200 and install a Ethernet cable between the 2 units so they can share data, they will share waypoints, GPS info, and Sonar, you can display 83 on one screen and 200 on another or any combination of the duel frequency. Or run a 50/200 to one unit and a 83/200 to the other unit then you can pick which one you want to view on either screen. Ethernet sharing provides maximum flexibility for 2 lowrance units you can really do alot with them.
  10. Here are the rest of the derby results, derby is 25.00 and this fall over 200 people got in to brave the elements mostly hardcore night fisherman. http://lakeeriefishingderby.com/index.html My boat has seen plenty of 11's and tons of 9's and 10's. Had one I derby checked at 11.7 but fell just shy of the board so it's not on there I didn't bother filling out a ticket since I wasn't in the money. My boat did have the 1st place fish for almost half the derby till the big fish starting going about 9 days ago, same as every year, the week of thanksgiving it's ON! If anyone ever wants to make the trip for big fish thanksgiving week is without a doubt the week to come. Sandy wreaked havoc on the bite and really put a damper on the fishing and screwed up the fall and the entire migration, the fish sort of skipped huron/vermillion and headed right for the islands which isn't typical.
  11. Sorry for your loss man, our family has been there it's extremely tough. Hang in there.
  12. Don't be to quick to judge Lowrance on their CS, they have been much better lately I have read alot of great stories recently about them stepping up to the plate big time, plus no finder displays fish arcs like a lowrance.
  13. I only fish Ontario a few trip per year so I only have one set of rigger reels and they are loaded with the 30lb Maxima, I'm always fishing during heavy flea season and the 30 doesn't catch fleas at all.
  14. McCoy is a copolymer as is Maxima which is what I use and it's awesome, either one will far out perform Mono. I use 30 on rigger rods but thinking about dropping down to 25
  15. That charger only charges at 3.5 amps. Another thing about agm batteries don't kill them completely it takes longer to bring them back to life for whatever reason. I have 3 in my boat for my terrova if I run them down to far I can't use my boats charger I have to hook up a regular charger and brings the dead one up some before the 4bank can do its thing
  16. Bird did have alot of transducer issues with 700 series units it could have gone bad, I HIGHLY doubt rough water had anything to do with it even in the roughest of waters the unit would only show a lumpy bottom not loose depth completely which is sounds like it's doing. Bird should be good about getting you a new one, I would contact them if it's still doing it, the mounting system on those units leaves alot to be desired as well, your ducer cable could have wiggled loose in the rough water as well, make sure ALL connections are good too.
  17. HDS-8 with P66 by Airmar, best picture you'll find for the money.
  18. HONDAM only recommends products his dealer sells regardless if it's the best fit for the job or not so take that with a grain of salt.
  19. I suggest a pair of these. http://www.thmarine.com/products/Traile ... ering-Lock
  20. I would assume so but your going to get motor creep no matter what, I have SeaStar steering and if I don't use my transom saver my motor is on it's side in no time. Are you using transom savers or another type of motor support? I don't like built in motor supports as it doesn't take the weight off the transom only the hydraulic trim, doesn't help much for trailering down bumpy roads. I'm assuming you have a Evinrude with the built in bracket.? I know Mercury doesn't have built in brackets.
  21. I actually have the HDS-8 bigger is always better, the soft keys on the bottom of the unit are really nice for quick adjustments and screen wise everything is actually big enough when running it in split screen. I originally had the HDS-7 and I sold it and got the 8, much better.
  22. I'm on my 2nd one, used first then ordered a brand new one. I love it, dry, fast, trolls like a dream, storage galore, just doesn't troll into big water due to the low bow. They redesigned the hulls in 2010 and they are MUCH better. They don't look like much and I get laughed at when I take it to Ontario but they have no idea what they are capable of on big water, they will shock you, you should see the look on peoples faces when I pass 22-25 fters
  23. It'll go as slow as u want. When I'm anchored perching in rough water my unit will bounce between .1-.3 it's very accurate trolling
  24. There is a loaded up one ready for trolling on Ohio game fishing . Com in the marketplace for 18k rigged perfect new pro kicker couple hds units new terrova with auto pilot canvas and 135 opti for main power. Check it out
