  1. Don't make this a coated cable vs Fish Hawk debate please... but How do the Scotty stackers work on coated cable? Do the pinch pads or the snap cause any damage? I have the X4 so I don't run coated cable but I was wondering because I thought about using them occasionally on a buddy's boat that runs the Depth Raider. Would they or do they damage the coating?
  2. Momay and Skipper are right. I had my switch out this past weekend and the terminal lugs on the back of the switch were numbered 1, 2, and common.
  3. Owasco can be real fun this time of the year on the North end. Good job.
  4. I think you mean "spin-n-glo" also Bob. Peanuts are also called "wobble glos" if you're looking them up online. I got a bunch from All Seasons in Pulaski and I saw a couple different ones at Bass Pro today. Bass Pro has a much smaller selection.
  5. Or Neil Smith of US Captains Training. They also teach in Rochester. http://www.uscaptain.us/
  6. Yes they do. They are "set it and forget it". Set the tension how you want them and then anyone can put the line in them and it is how you want it. Never too deep or too shallow like pinch pads or Laurvicks. Make sure all your rods are the same weight/diameter line though with these so the tension is consistent.
  7. I'm with Gator. I don't think I like the Otters running even with the boat when running 4 or 5 flatlines off each side. My lures are running to even and I'm having fish snag the next closer line when they release and drop back to the chute. I'm gonna figure out how to to get the V-pattern with the Otters so that the lures are each more behind each other so when they release and drop back they already clear the closer line. I do not stagger the setbacks on each line since this is not feasible when you're catching fish and sliding the releases down. I never had this problem running my older boards that trailed back some in a V-pattern. I'm gonna change back to the "even running" setting for summer with one or two copper or leadcore on each side though.
  8. I've got a pair of Traxstech rail mount reels with the larger 2" clamp if you're interested. They are the PR-3000. http://www.traxstech.com/Planer_Reels_-_Masts.html
  9. Are you looking for an old cord or the battery side of the retrofit cables? I've got a bunch of old cords since I'm having my cords replaced and riggers serviced. I think I have one or two at home and the rest are still in the boat. Call me if you want Andy (315) 527-3652
  10. It's good to see that your Q&A is paying off. Keep at it. Typically I don't respond to reports without fish pics even if I know the guy. So don't take offense. Good Luck, Andy
  11. I agree with Ray and Gambler. Walmart Renegades, I have a bunch of them. I like them but they do get beat-up pretty quick. I also have a bunch of Yozuri Crystal Minnow F6's and they are not those. Yozuri's are a flatter top and a little thinner profile.
  12. That boat can get cleaner?? Beautiful ride man!
  13. Do they operate smooth (reeling and levelwind)? Any corrosion? Do the clickers work?
  14. Great day! How many days til the weekend?? I feel a cough coming on...
  15. I don't pull inline boards too much but I have a pair of Gander Mt Guide Series rods that I like that are labeled for planer boards. Plenty of backbone for lifting the board out of the water but a soft enough tip. Can't remember the length, I'll check tonight.
  16. I have a lifetime license but I'm sympathetic to the rest. My girlfriend occasionally hunts. Last year, only one day. This year, if she wants to hunt, she can spend the $88. I'm not spending that for the one or two days she might get out. So as some have said, the prices are pushing out the occasional sportsman. I will be buying the lifetime licenses for my niece and nephew also. The NYS Thruway Authority did it to themselves. Here's my situation. I live in Sherrill and commute to Syracuse about 250 days a year just for work. If I paid tolls, it would be $2.30 per day for the round trip from Exit 33 to 34A and back. That's $575 a year just for work. Instead I buy the commuter plan EZPass for $90 for the year, unlimited usage, up to 30 miles per trip. If I go over 30 miles, there is a nominal charge depending on the distance. And, the Thruway doesn't need to employ an attendant to pass me a ticket or take the money.
  17. Chowder, I'll be back up on Saturday also with the in-laws. Don't know about Sunday, next weekend yet though.
  18. East no further than Red Creek. Any luck casting? There was plenty of color in the channel.
  19. Todd, great meeting you today. Thanks for the reason to actually get out fishing today. Pretty much had it written off this weekend until you and Hank walked in the house and woke me up. You're welcome aboard anytime. I think you forgot a big part of the weather in you report... COLD WET AND MISERABLE. But still better than settling for my only fishing for the weekend to be bullhead from the boat tied to the dock. Lures: Yozuri Crystal minnow black and silver (again), Rebel F20 in firetiger, Stinger scorpions in green dolphin and copper/orange edge. All back 100'.
  20. I'm still gonna be around if anyone else wants to fish. Nat'l Weather Service says 1-2 for Sat and increasing to 3 on Sunday. Don't know if I will make the later dates right now.
  21. Yozuri black and silver... (I think they run about 4 to 5' down back 100') Andy, nice meeting you yesterday. See ya this weekend.
