In fact, desalination is pretty cheap if you make it in large quantities. In Israel there are 31 desalination plants and over 80% of all the drinking water is from these plants.. All the sewer water gets a basic treatment and is used for agriculture. Israel also sells a lot of desalinated water to Jordan where it is in high demand. The real problem with desalination is that all the politicians talk about it and promote it ....... until it rains and then nobody promotes it anymore because now it is no longer a popular subject. Just remember that one almond costs a gallon of water.

I'm gonna go a bit in a different direction. I think that the early to mid 1980s Sylvans and starcrafts are probably the best boats available now. Specially the older Islanders are all made of a heavier grade of Aluminum and they are the tanks of the aluminum boats. It may take some time to fix them back up to their former glory, but with my 19 foot Islander I feel safe in 4 footers and I often find myself trolling along in the trough of a 4 foot wave. the 22 footers are just as stable -
NYC tried by banning the huge sugar loaded soft drinks. That did not go down well among our mostly sugar addicted population. Diet control is beyond the scope of government. Yet at the same time, if all the farm subsidies on sugar are removed , the price of sugar laced foods may go up enough to lower customer demand and maybe Subway will remove some of the sugar in its rolls. (currently sugar makes up 11% of a subway roll) -
I spent 2 days in the ER and three days in the neurology ICU in the past month being a support person. The staff is exhausted and yet giving the best they can. It makes sense to get the booster if only to lighten their load. They mostly treat the unvaccinated because the break through cases are still few and far between. Wishing you all a merry christmas.

I got my booster in the beginning of September, it never bothered me one bit. It is only logical that the CDC is changing its advice frequently. They are juggling a constantly mutating virus with constantly new emerging information and economic pressure. They are trying to be pro-active and they rather err on the side of caution. They are doing the best they can with the information that they get.

Maybe vision as we know it is only part of the picture. We do know that colors are different wavelengths, but we really do not know how fish sense these wavelengths (if at all) with their other sensory capabilities As an example I would offer the olfactory capabilities of dogs that allow them to move through pitch black rooms. There are probably senses that fish have that we don't even know about. -

A bunch of years ago, the infishersman magazine did a lot of research on the subject. This was when there was a lot of advertising red hooks and line.(both turned black at 25 feet) They tested all colors at different depths using a setup based on the vision capabilities of smallmouth bass. I don’t remember a lot of it,but I do remember that purple was visible at over 50 feet while all other colors had turned to black. This was before the introduction of fluorescent color patterns -

If you are sure that you have removed everything holding it, you should squirt some penetrating oil around the seam ,let it sit a bit and then heat it up a bit, just enough for the aluminum to expand a bit and spray some more penetrating oil. then take a wooden mallet and jut tap on the lower unit sideways so it vibrates enough to allow the penetrating oil to do its thing. After you have done that a bit you can also start hitting it with downward force. That usually does the trick. It is amazing what a bit of heat does to aluminum. It can also be the shift rod that is still stuck in its housing.

Hello Pete. The top of 47 is where the pin is. It is very close to the carburetor, but removing the carb is not very complicated. it is only 2 nuts. The VRO unit might make it a bit more complicated. I remember being able to pull the pin with a needle nose plier. -

You guys must be doing something wrong. When you go into the DEC website you are given the choice to receive all the DEC news blibs straight into your email account. There is the possibility to cherry pick what news you want and what you are not interested in. I had the state of the lake date announcement in my email and you could have had the same.

There was no lack of communication at all. the date was clearly advertised on their website together with above mentioned talks. all you have to to is sign up on the dec website and you will be completely up to date. LOU is not the DEC announcement bill board. It is just another local private website

Yes, it always was 35 years away into the future. Now finally, research has brought it in the realm of reality. The amount of energy needed to ignite fusion is still larger than the energy produced, but research is at the point of tipping the scales toward the energy producing side. Right behind it in research is cold fusion which is a lot closer now than it ever was,but still 35 years away. I believe , I will see it in my lifetime. For now I still have my completely refurbished mercruiser 4 banger and I hope to use it next summer. -
I ordered a Cybertruck, but given the waiting time, I will probably switch to an F150 lightning. What worries me is the limited towing distance that I may have to deal with.

If there is anything at all ,that I believe in . It is the creativeness of bureaucracy to invent new taxes to hit Jo Shmo just so it hurts a little but without killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. On the other hand, think about all the gasoline tax that you will not have to pay anymore.

Spoonfed, Pollution and climate change hits us all. liberal, democrat, republican and conservative alike. going forward is a lot more effective working together to face a shared danger instead of fighting each other because of politically blown up ,but usually small differences. Believe me ,you in Springfield Mass or I in Rochester,NY will both get shafted equally hard if we do not work together. There is a saying in the IDF where I served. It goes like this: If you fight divided you hang alone ,but if you fight together you win the war.
