  5. Erie ice, This afternoon what is left of the ice is on the Canada shore line, small boat harbor is clear. A couple of freighters came in and really busted the ice lose. You should be OK in the light, in the dark go very slow Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I would consider aluminum for the floor, never will be an issue. Lowe boats use aluminum floors Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I have both, and for the weekend guy the GL rods are fine, yes the talora are a little nicer, but 50 is a big difference Sent from my SM-T280 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. The question is how not to “kink” the line, not release the dipsy. Correct on what what was said to release it, but what be happening is you are dropping the rod back causing slack, then causing a kink, so never let the rod back down without pressure keeping the line tight after release Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. West Marine will match Amazon pricing, but you have to mention it to them

  12. I like big boards over the inlines, fight more of the fish, not the board. When a rod pops it makes you jump into action, lots of fun!
  13. Another material to use is cellular PVC, it's similar to starboard but way less cost. You can get in board sizes. The 5/4 is a good thickness. CertainTeed and Azek are 2 manufactures Sent from my SM-T280 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. you can buy a 2 part liquid foam, mix together and pour, you have about 30 seconds to pour in. You can do this in your garage, no need to spray and it is coast guard approved. West marine does carry it and will price match if you ask them too. Being closed cell very little water if any gets into it so the path to the stern may not even be needed, adds a great deal of structural support as well
  17. You can 2 part liquid foam, closed cell for sure. Pricy but very good stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. For what's its worth I have a 1997 115 Johnson and as a weekend fisherman the motor at the end of last season has 432 hours on it since when I bought it new, my trolling motor is the 3rd one in the same time frame so maybe it just needs a good once over. I know you not that close to Buffalo but Brobil marine is a top guy for your motor
