I fish solo 85% of the time. For these reasons mentioned above When I leave the dock I have 6 rods out and ready. 2 rigger rods 2 diver rods and 2 coppers (450/600). You never know what the fish will like on any given day. It's a lot easier to have the rods out and ready then to head below and get them out after. Great job and your day you earned it !!!!

Ran a few miles west of port last night (7 miles) and set up in 150FOW. Had 52* down 120. Worked my way out to 220 FOW. Marked very few fish and zero bait but had some action. First fish came on 315 dipsy pulling gator spin Dr / green fly - 7 lb steelhead. 141 rigger fired pulling green echip with blue dolphin fly - 24 lb King. Same rigger fired again and lost that fish (a decent one). Dipsy with ATOMMIK killer green fly took another shot and dropped that one (smaller). Nice to have some steady action for a change and the currents were not as bad as they have been

Anyone who knows me know i just tell the truth. Two words to sum it up for me - BEYOND SLOW. July 3rd Fished from 530am to 1pm. Marked an occasional fish from 140-300 FOW. Ran mix of spoons, FF, and meat. 68* up top and 62* down 140. never moved a rod July 4th Fished from 6am to 1230pm. Marked decent amount of fish between 180-230 FOW. agaoin 68* up top and 60 down 150'. Similar program as day before as a mix of Spoons,FF, and meat. Took a couple small kings and a small steely off 158 rigger. Had one Major hit off 178 rigger over 220. nearly spooled us before hooked popped and that wa sit for the day July 5th Fished from 630am to 12pm. started in 150 FOW and worked our to 550'. i had 69 up top and 55 down 135 the whole way it never waivered more than a hald degree. Marked a total of 3 fish and there down 300 in the 450 range. never moved a rod. I varied my Down Speed from 2.0 - 3.0 to try to make something happen. I did hear of some Kings being caught in similar waters right off bottom but i couldnt get my program dialed in to catch them. Currents were some of the STRONGEST ive seen in a long time. Back at it later.....

I have a '97 2352 with a 350. I have trolled with it but did need bags to slow me down. If you are serious about trolling you can adjust the prop for a cheaper option but will sacrifice on top end. I have a 8hp high thrust and strongly suggest that if you can swing it. Saves on gas, and insurance of a second motor should your main go down Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
I've always scraped the coating off as mentioned above. I did hear of using a lighter and melting the coating off but have never tried it. Don't be afraid to give yourself a good section of bare cable. I have at least 3 wraps around my spool to ensure it makes good contact

I also have high seas. I run their triples and am very happy with their product -
If your running them for dipsys angle them lower so they are horizontal to the water and tighten them down.

I have my autopilot, GPS, FishFinder, Radio, etc wired to the common. is this setup ok? thougts?
