Folks have been coming up with ideas for entertaining their kids but what about the rest of us? I thought it might be good to make a suggestion list that people can add their input to give others ideas Here are some of the things I have been doing to stave off boredom: Checked over line and drags on all reels, examined rod eyelets for wear and rough spots Attached new fluoro leaders to all my setups (Lost count at 44) Made new rig lines for Seth Green rigs, and checked over connections Weeded out unused lures from lure boxes Shined up spoons and replaced hooks where necessary (sharpened some as well) Sorted out spoons and sticks by size in their boxes Repainted shark weights and coated them with Plasti-dip Coated all my Seth Green sinkers with Plasti-dip (to avoid handling lead directly and avoid scratches to boat) Sorted out all the stuff and equipment down cellar I'm putting back in the boat Checked over the downriggers and especially the connection points in the wire. Double checked my trailer lights and oiled the winch Checked trailer tire pressure and added air Charged the batteries in the boat Wiped down the displays of all my electronics Checked over the condition of all life vests Checked the dates on my flares Checked over and wiped down my kicker which off the boat is and on a stand in the garage Checked over my nets (one of which had a tear that I hadn't noticed previously) and repaired it Most of this was done while listening to music on Youtube (some great stuff on there if you look around) I'll be tying trolling flies as soon as I receive the new materials ordered Am I ready yet to go fishing ? Still more stuff to do as I think of it

I feel much the same way Keith. This is a real study in patience (at the very least) for all of us. Take out the feelings on those trees on your property and go get em tiger At least you can feel some control over the situation and some positive satisfaction about progress.

I guess my thought about the sheep comment was that I viewed the folks feeling that way as "lemmings headed for the cliff" so maybe there is an advantage to "sheepdom" When you step back from the issue at hand a bit the real underlying value of this forum becomes readily apparent. We have a very diverse group of people with a shared interest and a lot of passion involved in it. The opinions, views, perspectives, and vigor of approach to expression vary as much as the participants themselves. This is a good thing as it should get us thinking, sort out our emotions and personal views, and force us to think about each other and how important it is to respect ourselves and each other as we are all proud of our own countries (plural intended). The issues surrounding this virus are deadly serious, the emotions are running high; and for good reason. Political issues, attitudes toward governance, independence of thought and interpretation of civil liberty boundaries most often accompany important issues and it is very much a part of the American experience. The trick here is to rationally discuss the issues with facts, reason, lucidity, and coherence so that all of us benefit from the discussion with the result leading to a better understanding of the best approach to solving this terrible problem together. Just something to think about.....

Harv is "the man" when it comes to the weights. For those folks still messing around with pancake weights or cannon balls this would be a good time to do yourselves a favor and get some more effective weights. I don't think you'll find any that are less expensive and of high quality and now is the time to back our local LOU guys.

Let me offer a little perspective to this. I've known and fished with Adm Byrd for over 35 years and he has much passion for fishing and I've never seen him get this upset about anything. The reason is that his boat is all set and ready to go fishing at home but he is working each day. Doing what you ask...working directly with the EMT's and medical people in ambulances dealing with this damned virus while the rest of us sit at home on our asses in safety. I have never seen such blind selfish comments as are appearing on here by some people that don't seem to have a clue about what is actually going on around us. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
