  1. Took my boys out for 1st trip with the new boat. Looks calm but there was some nice rollers early. Went from 3:30-6:30. Stayed around 230 entire time. 1 on wire out 240 SD/Fly. Lost bigger one behind the boat. Wonderbread spoon on rigger down 65. Still getting used to a kicker and new riggers. Had 50 degree water down 65 over 230. Marked some fish but trying to figure out settings on new Helix 9. Couldn’t mark riggers. If any one has any Helix Gen3 setting tips please share. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  4. I just did the same. Bought a new 196 from PA. Called around and Albion DMV said they would do it. So I made an appt and drove 45 mins. There was 3 forms I needed. 1 for boat reg, 1 for trailer reg and 1 for sales tax. I took plate from the trailer I just sold and transferred it. Walked out hour later with everything I needed. Put the new ID on the boat and had the maiden voyage last night. If you have any questions let me know. Good luck with the boat. Love mine so far . Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  16. Left the dock at 6:30. Set up in 100 fow since it was little rough. Trolled NW. Lost 1 on wire dispey set 210 SD/F combo in 150. Picked up a small Steele in 180 on wire Dipsey set 180 with SD/F combo. Not my boat so no fish hawk. Headed in around 9:30. Didn’t mark very much. Just nice to be out. Can’t wait to get the new boat in another week. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. Probe and temp readout works. Line counter broken and hand strap broken. Clip it to your down rigger or line counter reel to get depth and temp readings for cheap. located in Greece NY Rick 585-503-1727 $20 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Looking to equip new boat with 2 riggers. Was looking at Cannon mag 10 and read a lot of comments about circuit board issues and water issues. So I thought I would switch to the manual riggers and not have to worry about electrical issues but reviews on the cannon manuals are not good either. Are cannon riggers really that bad? Are Scotty’s better? Old boat had manual invaders and they worked fine so anything is an upgrade for me. I know electric is faster but I don’t mind manual. Riggers will be taken off each day and stored in garage. Thanks in advance for your advice. Rick Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  22. We were trolling along and this bird must have been tired and needed a place to rest. Stayed with us for about 10 minutes. Funny thing was about 5 minutes after it left that rods fires with a laker attached. My buddy is a fellow volunteer fire fighter and lives in Dansville. He takes me fishing in the finger lakes so I returned the favor. He is hooked now and can’t wait to go again. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
