  1. 1 to 2 seems slow.. stickbaits for me 2.5 give or take abit is the speed works for me. Are you not running spoons? Like today most fish came on spoons for us. Also, had to go abit deeper today seemed like 20 to 25 was good. Don't be afraid to move out abit. Zingy zag in and out see what depth they are. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. In the picture that fish has a Black Mouth. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. White mouth Trout, Black mouth Salmon. Easiest way, Atlantic's have X as the dots. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Oh and a few days. The fish wanted long leads off the flasher. 36in or so. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. That's rough, we marked a ton of fish in 110 to 125 range all week also. Just like you we couldn't get them to bite. Not sure why we always started in that range, kept saying today was the day those fish were going to bite. By the end always moved outside. Plus we only got two spoons to fire by the end of it no spoons were going down. It was all FF bite. Hopefully it turns on for you guys, trying to get back out next weekend. 6. Hi Nick, Was in Oswego last week. Did pretty good but the inside bite was awful. Most of our fish came in the 140 to 190 range those fish seemed much more active. Not sure if you tried that deep yet. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. It goes both ways, I've had Chart Captains pretty much ass ram me after seeing me hook up. Pretty sad really. One time we were fighting a fish and a Charter Captain got so close I could have grab a board he was running copper off of in the middle of the pack. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  9. Suppose to be pretty bad out on the lake. Be careful out there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Seriously, what's the world come to these days. Can't ever just be happy with what you get. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. I understand the idea behind it, but for me it's just one more knot or terminal tackle that can break down. I look at like a machine in a machine shop, the more moving parts the more that can break.
  12. I usually run FF about 5 to 8 first, Spoons 8 to 10 and go from there if rods move or not. Again, I'm not a pro but seems to work.
  13. Just have to remember the weights will attract fish to come and look. If you run them to far back it can hurt. Some days they like them tight to the weights other days they don't. I always start with short leads and then move them if I don't get any action. This for Kings, bows and Browns u run them out from the weight.
  14. I would agree with that, but there are days were a certain paddle color and fly do most of the damage. I can put down everything and kitchen sink on other rods and nothing.
  15. Salmon are an evasive species...Salmon is what made the sport fishery what is today, period. Not Lakers, yes Lake O is very diverse in as what can be caught. There are less Charter Boats now than before, Lakers don't draw people to Lake O, it might have saved the Charter Captains money as it put fish on the deck past few years. That's not going to save them in the future because people aren't going to be repeat customers. They advertise Salmon for their big draw not Lakers.
  16. There are a few combos that use to be go to for me that don't catch fish anymore. Also, certain spoon patterns that don't catch fish anymore. Wouldn't throw them away though because I'd bet the house the will come back ard and catch fish again.
  17. Depends what you are targeting. If you want salmon dipsey's are the way to go to get started on the cheap. You can deploy 3 on each side and pretty much get the depth columns you need to be in. Don't waste time or money on braid. Get wire setups in long run u will be happier.
  18. Do you even feel a 5lb fish on copper? Anything less than 10lbs usually don't even feel it on copper.
  19. I actually use stick baits in the spring than bring them back out really late in the shallows. Growing up on Lake Michigan I can remember using nothing but j-plugs all summer and fall. With a spoon day here or there. I don't run plugs much on Lake O. Also, guy was using j-plugs other day I know and caught 3 off it.
  20. Our best action was between 150 to 170 on sat. That was a few days ago wt this wind could pushed them anywhere.
  21. I'm just saying if you have never fished salmon before or on lake o before. I wouldn't bother at the copper right now. Hone in your Downriggers and dipsey setups. You will have to much going on. All his own though.
  22. I grew up on the tip of Lake Michigan in Indiana. You had to buy a salmon/trout stamp if you wanted to keep them. You could still fish for them with just the fishing license. Not hard to enforce. Understand the issue with the lifetime people thu.
