  1. Some out of ibay last night but not bad, even on my braid dipsy line. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Ill admit that after that second fish was swimming again, I had a big smile on my face. If that second king had taken the other rigger, I think i would have had a mess on my hands. Fortunately did not have a tangle with all that going on. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I was due for a good run after the last few resulting in smaller numbers and smaller fish. Out solo and started setting lines at 130fow. 60 rigger and 70 rigger with a mix of DW and Warrior spoons, and 150 setting 1 dipsy with a green SD/Atommik fly combo. Blank screen and did not move a rod until 190fow. Fairly constant 46 degrees on the 70 rigger for the whole evening. What ended up being my biggest fish of the year nailed the cheater on the 60 rigger. Ripped out almost 400 feet of line before I was able to start turning it around. That turned out to be a 24lb king, but midfight, the dipsy rod started hammering. Had to leave it until I finally got the big king in. Didn't weigh that one but it was a mid-teens king as well. Both released slowly and they did swim away after some time. Satisfied, I turned around and was treated with a blank screen and no movement until 120 where I dropped one fish on the 70 rigger. Brought in a small steelhead a short time later on that same rigger on the cheater. Quality, not quantity. And I don't like doubles on a solo run.
  4. Nice. Curious how far out you were on the dipsy? I sucked bad last night. 0 for 2. Both decent sized and popped off. The junk in the water and wicked currents made it a pita. Looks like a thermocline is starting to set up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Hehe. That was what I was thinking. But I wont do it for the above reasons posted. I never even considered it could be unlawful. Thanks guys for your input. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Hypothetical question. If I were to take a 125 hp 2 cycle outboard and put it on a 17.5' aluminum boat with a max rating of 120 hp? Boat currently has a 70 hp 2 cycle. Problems I may have? Unsafe? Not enough info? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I have been browsing those listings for several days. Had not seen the one you mentioned but I'm going to check now. I have a 125 hp mercury that I have been carefully maintaining, and hoping to transplant because I know what to expect from it. And I have a ton of gear that I also want to move. But I'm also looking at whole boats that I can part out as needed.
  8. Looking for an aluminum boat without a working engine or missing altogether. Would need to be rated up to 125 hp outboard. Solid transom and floor a must. Open bow preferred. Electronics and gear not necessary. Working kicker motor included would be welcome. I am in Rochester and willing to travel throughout the state within 180 miles.
  9. Dont know what you are talking about? I couldnt figure out the phone number at first but got it after I posted. Then I edited my post. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Don't know if I buy the theory. At least not yet. We were in them pretty well out of Rochester about a month ago. If it continues like this, however... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. Im wondering too, so maybe I can avoid it. $300 sinking to the bottom of the lake will make me cry Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Ha. They really can be. Especially on evening runs. Thanks for the report. Hope the lake sets up soon. We went 2 for 2 yesterday and weren't up for chasing lakers so packed it in at 9:30. Nice to know they are there, but I don't have anything that looks like a cowbell or peanuts on the boat. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. And if it sat since last year without being disconnected and not on a battery tender, that would be why it went bad. Important to keep a battery charged at all times or it shortens the life. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. What I want to know is how you and crew always get weekdays off? Im jealous! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. At least some action. Going to give it a shot tomorrow night anyways. Video is nice. I need a bigger boat. That is one heck of a spread of rods there. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  20. Nice report. What were you going to attempt to use at those 250+ depths? All glow stuff? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Out at 5:30am. A little on the slow side this morning. Left good looking water in search of a bigger bite that we couldnt find. Went 5 for 7 with 3 steelhead and 2 kings. Trolled 130-265, with best from 130-150. Fish caught from 2.1-2.8 downspeed Riggers up and down from 100-20 with cheaters. 2 flatlined casting spoons about 10 down. Full 10 color lead core, and 2 dipsys ranging from 200 - 70 on setting 2. Dipsy's produced nothing after rotating in spin doctors, pro trolls, stickbaits. 45 rigger with a warrior triple tail took a skipper king. Warrior green glo alewife at 100 rigger took a 7lb king. Lead core with a mag dw firefly took an 8lb steelie. A nice fighting 10lb steelhead on a warrior custom salmon slammer custom from a cheater in the neighborhood of 40. This steelhead had an Ontario MNR tag attached to it. Havent figured out how to report it yet. Last fish that made it to the boat was a 3/4oz blue/silver krocodile taken by another steelhead at around 5lbs. A silver kastmaster and warrior custom also had fish on briefly. Someday ill figure out the pics through the phone Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
