Im in the middle of a complete gut job on my aluminum boat, all aluminum zero wood! Definitely has its pros and cons to that when it comes to glue. Anyway i am completely torn on what type of flooring to put down on the main cockpit / deck area. The front and back decks with be Carpet. My big concern with the foams that are so popular now a days is longevity? Even though all the new boats are coming from the factory with it, I read the life expectancy is around 3 -5 years. 100k for a boat and that needs the decking to be replaced in 3-5?? Seems crazy to me. A lot of reviews seem to be boats that are in the sun all season long and or in salt. Mine would be niether, but at the same time will be used regularly. For people who have experience with it in our region what are your thoughts on Foam vs. Carpet vs. Vinyl? Vinyl to me seems great but would get extremely hot giving the deck being aluminum. Just finished mine even though I don't agree with it. Boat US for free, but..... the certificate i can download is only temporary for up to 90 days. I have to purchase the Final certificate for $15? But I can go to the dmv and have it added to my license for $13? Am I missing something?

Awsome! Ran mine today and was awsome, just turned my screen down and had plenty of juice with my 12ah lithium. Loved the big screen!

Do you happen to know which case it is? I also have a pelican 2300 , but look like it will be tight for transporting, fishing, and a battery.

I was planning on turning my existing unit into a ice unit rather than buying a whole now shuttle. Although heavy and risky.... it would be sweet to have a 10in screen for the ice. I bought a new power cord , Ice transducer, and storage bag to make it happen. Problem I have is, the unit is a Helix 10 Si- GPS Gen 1 and this unit does not have chirp or the Ice mode that comes with the newer units. I did a software update to version 1.9 like I thought research told me to do, but still do not have Ice mode? Am I doing something wrong or does the Gen 1 just not have the option like thought? Or will just adding the transducer be good enough? Any help would be awsome! Thanks
