  1. You sound like the poster boy for summers eve?! Long live the King!!
  2. Nice grammar and punctuation...Mr spellcheck!! Go back to Salmoncrazy, tying snagging flies and your Lotac meetings!!
  3. Sounds like we got a fly fishing elitist on a trolling forum.
  4. I normally use Seaguar floro leader. But i've been using 15 lbs Viscious floro line (not leader) for spoons and it's been top-notch. It's cheap and you can buy it in any Wal-mart. I will be bumping up to 20 as the season progresses.
  5. Not to mention you risk damaging your trailer. That's how your bunk supports get bent...amongst other things.
  6. Take a look on Michigan Stingers website. They have a ton of different patterns.
  7. I've been on this boat. She's a nice one!!
  8. I find 48 and 60 as the best leads between flasher and meat rig. Buy a couple matched sets from John King or Big weenie and you'll catch some fish. Run the same speeds as you would any other device. Close to the ball on a rigger (10 ft). On a long copper (450+). Or on an extra long lead between your dipsey and flasher (10 feet).
  9. Keep the braid on for divers. Or switch to wire. 30 lbs big game/flea flicker/sea flee for riggers with a lighter floro leader for spoons.
  10. That's kind of like asking an Italian woman for her recipe for sauce.
  11. Looks like it was good in O-town today with 6 new Salmon on the LOC leaderboard.

  13. That is a great story!! You guys did a great job!! I had never fished in conditions like that. We couldn't keep the riggers (or dipseys) in for 5 minutes (even after cranking down the releases). Our captain was new to these conditions and the boat control wasn't there.
  14. I've never gotten sea-sick. But i went into the cabin to put away/organize gear as we were coming back in Sat morning. After i came back on deck i was green...all the guys were taking bets on if/when i would chum. But i made it back in without spilling my breakfast.
  15. I almost didn't enter this year after the bad weather last year. We came back in both days around 10 am. We entered amateur this year figuring we'll gamble $250. If it's 9 footers again we'll be back at Capt Jack's.
  16. 100% not a good idea. Post in the trade-a-trip thread and maybe you can hitch a ride on somebody's boat.
  17. It's been pretty slow for Kings. But i would expect that to change any day now.
  18. Cool underwater pic! Was this in 223 fow? http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/topic/31846-shark/page-3
  19. It depends on speed, species and depth you will troll them at. A small flutter spoon is great for flat-lining. A magum spoon will perform well off a downrigger down 5 ft or more. The middle sizes will do both. I personally like FLT, Michigan Stinger, Yeck, Dreamweaver and Moonshine. To me, the NK's seem a lot heavier than the other blanks. But people do well with those too. Some perform better at slower speeds...and some better at higher speeds. Although, most are very speed tolerant and will fish good at different speeds. Get a few different brands and let the fish decide what they want that day.
