  1. Daiwa sealine LC5 are on sale at Cabelas. The 47 are great diver reels and fit 1000 ft perfect. Or back the 57 with some mono and have high speed for $109.
  2. Check out his video on his website
  3. Replace the plugs and run non-ethanol gas! My 90 hp Mercury 2-stroke starts much easier with non-ethanol. Idles smoother and runs better!!
  4. It's not all the same. Try some different brands and you will see/feel some slight differences. It all does the same thing. And will all kink on you if you don't keep tension on it. Cut out any pig tails. And re-terminate as needed.
  5. With your reel about 3/4 full of mono. A 3 color fits perfect. I use the SPRO micro swivels for connections. I'd go with 20 lbs Big Game as a backer.
  6. If you are really unsure...bring a spool of lead core out on the boat. Then you can make up some different size cores as you fish. And match the productive depth.
  7. Buy the 1/2 keels for your otters. The small boards are a pia!!
  8. Davenports on Sodus Bay has a lot of NK spoons!
  9. I've been running it. Catches fish with no issues. Takes up less space on a reel.
  10. Get the Daiwa Sealine LC5 they're on sale now at Cabelas! Same price as an Accudepth.
  11. You can probably get a Mora pretty cheap this time of the year. I got one at bass pro 8 years ago for $30. It's on the second set of blades. I can cut a hole pretty fast with it. Had a Lazer before. Don't really notice much of a difference between them. The Nils are def the best! They cut like a hot knife through butter!!
  12. I experimented with dive bombs last year. I didn't have much luck. So I'm thinking it does kill the action! I ran them 1/2 way out on the copper...and at the backing.
  13. 20 or 15 lbs big game with 12 lbs leader on my boat Ugly stik 8'3" L rods. I prefer the 15 but i use 20. These are used for everything until sea flea season. Then the lead core rods get the cores pulled off and I add 250 ft of Flea Flicker or See Flee line to the backing.
  14. I tried that with a brand new 200 copper last summer. Lets just say it ended up a tangled mess...to say the least. I think a small steelhead hit the spoon and didn't trip the rigger release.
  15. I just wish somebody would make a high speed reel to fit a 600.
  16. You can launch at the coast guard station at the park. Bring a buddy and some waders (in case the docks aren't in yet).
  17. The hardest decision is going left or right out of the chute! I have better luck with floating stick baits (jr thunder sticks, j9 rapala, rattling rogue) in the shallow water (8-10 fit). Keep an eye on the reports section before you go. If you run some spoons...place a medium sized split shot above the swivel between your main line and a (just under) rods length of 10-12 lbs floro leader. I like fire tiger and black/silver sticks. Nbk, ssw and chicken wing are good spoon colors.
  18. Call BW or King. They might sell you some.
  19. Use peg-it's to peg them with 2 beads. One goes inside the squid head and the other above the peg. Then they'll "clack" as they move...and sound like a school of baitfish.
  20. Try plastic squids. They don't fall apart and are cheap. Big weenie uses them on a lot of their rigs they sell.
