if you have good reels and good rods to work a fish I really dont think fish can strip that much line.... if you make a fish really fight the drag and the rod you can slow them down pretty quickly but you can lose some also

are you asking what the least amount you want on your reel? I would say at min 350 feet... thats dead minimum you can always increase you capacity by adding braid frist then mono since braid is thinner
