Inline planers

I use them all the time with core and copper. What works best for me is a section of 40# mono between the backing and core/copper to hook the board to. That way the clip doesn't wear on the core or my braid backing. -

If you only have riggers maybe try a flasher and fly on the bottom rod and stack a second rod with a spoon 5-10 ft above and a longer lead behind the flasher and fly. Thought being, that the F/F helps to attract the fish in and if they aren't interested in hitting that as they swim away they can look up and see the single "wounded" spoon trailing behind. Then WHAM! Good Luck!

Out of long point yesterday, fleas weren't bad at all. WEED MATS were terrible though. Water was very murky as well.

Do you ever have trouble with the wire kinking because it was bent so much in the slide diver? How long is your leader?

Mark, What's your mirage spoon look like?

Is it the old 840 probe? If so, those have a lot of issues. An upgrade to an X4 probe may solve your problem immediately. The old probes have a tendency to leak and quit working.

Maybe a smaller piece of meat would help. I will have to give it a shot. -

salmon fishing lake ontario from a canoe.

How do you keep from flipping over if a big king drives under your canoe amid ship? I know we can all plan on letting off the drag, but it doesn't always happen. In a boat you may lose your fish, in a canoe you may lose your life. Doesn't sound like fun to me. I love my family too much to even think of doing something like that. -
Great Product for sure.

How do you run a meat wrapped kwik fish? -
Larson, If you are setting up a new dipsy rod I would skip the braid and get 1000' of wire. You will be much happier. 1. you can get deeper with the wire. 2. You won't run into the problem of dealing with the fleas. Fleas can ruin your day in a hurry. If you have a size 30 reel, 1000' of wire will fill it up nicely. You can get reasonably priced dipsy rods amost anywhere, put on a twili tip and your ready to go!

Sometimes You've got to be careful. A few years ago my father and I went out with a friend in his 23 ft penn yan. Relatively speaking the waves weren't bad but my father started heaving so many times you couldn't count. Kept telling us he was ok and keep fishing. A little later we boated a 28# king which he took a picture of me holding. 10 minutes later he asked me if we caught any fish? then he started asking what time it was every 30 seconds to a minute?? Long story short, something in his head had snapped due to the violence of the vomiting. Obviously, we pulled and ran in immediately. Drove to the hospital, Dr. said that it was Trans-global amnesia due to the stress the vomiting put on his system. By the time we were done at the hospital he was back to normal but he still doesn't remember ANY of the fishing trip, not even taking the pictures. The waves were maybe 2-3 ft and we were in a good sized boat. All I can say is everyone is different when it comes to being seasick. I have been there when I am puking my guts out but don't ever want to quit, but when my Dad started asking me what time it was every 30 seconds it scared the hell out of me.

On the east side, you can take the boat to the village dock in aurora and walk across the street to the Fargo. On the west side, south of Sheldrake you can go to O'Malley's by boat as well. Also .a bunch of wineries on the west side you can take the boat to, so you can score BIG points with the MRS.
