  1. For salmon the regular works just fine . We use braid on a diver rod and wire on a roller rod . They have their days when they are hot they are hot. A lways have a pair on the boat . There is a learning curve but once figured out they work well.
  2. I run hot n tots the steelhead love them also the larger sizes work well on staged kings . I have a ton of them use them on Erie for eyes and lake O for steelhead . I am old school and almost a hundred years old.
  3. X2 on the big game
  4. A advert is what it states your adverse comment has no place in a for sale add . If you don't agree with the add that's ok but don't interfere with the guys sale.
  5. Big outlets generally SUCK . The small local shops are better stocked with the tackle we use and need and most times their prices are better . I like the one on one service and the working knowledge most of these small shops have to offer .
  6. Braid and trip ez 50 off the otters with spoons have worked well for us .Long leads with light spoons because they are over powered by big baits.
  7. I had another holder drop a pin on a diver rig . It must have something to do with torque on the holder from the diver all the rigger and board set ups have been flawless . It is a great holder but that one flaw is a killer .
  8. The boys are spot on with the leader length I went to 100 ft this year and the catch rate dropped . Looks like long is wrong.
  9. A alternative to the Albright mono leader to wire connection is a Spro Heavy # 3 swivel with a clinch knot on the mono and a haywire twist on the wire . I use this with a Talora roller rod . Both connections will work well if done properly this set up can be a fish killer .Slide Diver web page has a good video on the set up.
  10. Fish USA stocks repair kits they are only a few bucks. Most hardware stores have tubing in the plumbers dept. I used the bigger tubing just force it into the ring it's a tight fit but you won't have to use the rubber sleeve to hold it in place works for me.
  11. We run them all but Lake O the Mag sizes produce the best for us with Kings . The alewives have been large the past few years .8 inch and 10 Docs both have their days
  12. It happens on the single axis also . Not much metal at that spot and the roll pins seem soft . I peened them to make a flair at the ends hope this works . Nice unit but made in China . Still have Berts on our other boat USA manufacture the hardware seems to be of better quality .
  13. Thanks BAZOOKAJOE got it done . I have the other half of the weight and a aluminum plate to make the second one . it took the sting out of having to replace the broken board.
  14. Please disregard this post just found the thread on the mods.
  15. I broke a otter and have a spare keel can anyone post a pic of the double keel . I would like to try the double set-up . I can't get my head around $70 for the kit it's pricey for a chunk of lead and a aluminum plate . Thanks in advance for any replies.
  16. The large scotty and if needed one or two rubber bands works for me . pull 40 and 50 trip ease or jets and all my coppers sizes . But the bands won't release from the boat we let the fish do that.
  17. I run three of them they are listed as rigger planer rods . They are plenty heavy and would work well as dipsy rods if you are looking for a rod with some back bone .
  18. Got a half dozen super glows they don't work any better !
  19. I have the same rig mine has monel wire on it . We used them for lake trout when I was a kid that was about a hundred years ago. There is no name on them but I think they were made by Heddon or Shakespeare . The lever with the leather drag is neat.
  20. They sure are wonderful if you want all your rod handles inside the boat getting in the way and have all your reels and seats getting chewed all to HELL . Ran the dam things 30 years ago you couldn't pay me to go back to that stuff.
  21. Nice Shot !!! That should get a reaction.
  22. X10 for me not even a bump for years of trying.
  23. Warrior Walleye spoons are also steely killers.
