  1. 2 copper rods and reels ? Still 4 sale ? Thanx Len
  2. I would like to try using copper, contact me 705 639 1896 ask for Len thanks.
  3. I agree When the tip pops ,Crank, Crank, Crank, Then when you feel the fish set it. One must master the art of a Downrigger. Many a Great Fish have been lost because of the Bowline slack release. Speaking from Experience myself..
  4. Your choice of rods is very similar to our set up. We run 1 Dipsey rod out on port side and one dipsey out starboard, then we have 2 down riggers with 2 rods . One down rigger runs Moore temp and speed torpedo with a Flasher and spoons with one slider on top. A clean set up without all the rods. Last weekend on Sunday, We had Fish on all morning with a Big double header at 10:10 am at 195 foot of water down 95. Also We put Grand pas old Lucky favorite Lead core out the middle and let all 10 colours go with 20 feet of mono 50 lb. We run 5 rods and 2 with sliders = 7 .One fish peeled over 450 feet off on the port side Dipsey rod WEEEEE. Hold ON
  5. Here is a beginners question, I hear a lot about copper and steel lines, no fleas stick , How would I use them on our boat with 2 dipsey rods and 2 downriggers. I would like to try some for the price. User info make a deal. Thanks Len
  6. We had some really nice kings on, 1- 24 and 1 -14 this past weekend and the fleas were getting pretty heavy. Got 2 in and OOOPs let 3 go to grow bigger, the lines jammed up even with power pro super braid. Smack tip down against water Hard and fast shakes some off and Keep reeling with tension On. That's called Fishing
  7. Going out to Port Hope on Sunday at 5;00 ,out to the 150 foot mark and down to find temps. Puke and mongoose on rods already green flasher/dipseys and flies for sure. One long lead core full 10 colours always takes fish. Sounds like you had a pretty fun filled week
  8. Any one fishing out of Port Hope ,Going out on Sunday /26 Catching any Fish and how far out ,Where to start? Any tips up? Thanks

  12. What a great day, It cant get any better ,caught the fish, twisted lines and pictures to prove it . Totally awesome. LBT1
  13. Santana2 ,do you gauge the mph on your fish finder? Lake Ontario has currents down under. Your rigs may not be working right at all. We use a Moore temp probe that has a built in speedo drive. It attaches to the electric downrigger and gives us live data, temps and speed at the ball depth we are set to. This shows us how fast our lures trolling at. The currents down under can stop your rigs from spinning and you end up just floating along, even though the rod tips are bent and locked in. Try running east for about a 1/2 hour or so against the current, lures will Speed Up. Fish On. LBT1
  14. You are knot alone, One time a few years ago we had a 12 pound chrome shark slip the clutch loose and it went to the fish gods!! OOOPS another trip for more tackle . LBT1
  15. The FOW should have some fish marking on the fish finder , Try using different spoons or flies in a green colour. Do you have any dipsy rods with rotators ?How is your stuff set up ,Please describe how and what you are using ,Maybe we can hook you a fish or two. LBT1
  16. King hunter that's a big one 37 pounds, 2 years ago on the north shore near Port Hope ,we wanted to fish the day after the after the Toronto sun derby closed. The big fish for that week was 34 lbs 4oz.Uncle Bruce caught a 35.0 pounder ,The scales tell the story. It was a $ 30,000 Toyota prize fish 18.00 hours after the derby closed. What a Fish.

    The Big One

    Adams first Big King
  20. Last week we ran our old grandpas Penn reel with 10 colours of lead core with one of my dads old trout lures with a big buck tail, This was about 3 hundred feet of line with a 25 foot 40 lb mono leader and lots of backer line . This long line was a smash at the breakers ball .The fish just hammered it so hard we watched in awe as this big trout came up and right out of the lake, wagging his tail at us 3 times before he said goodbye. Keep the lead up top 30 to 40 or so and braided line or wire down deep . LBT1
  21. Adam hooked his first Big King EVER today at 11:55am and it was headed for deeper water. We made our last turn for the for the trip back, when Adam seen the rod bounce. He had his hands full with this one. Sometimes 5:am is just a boat ride around the lake and other days the rods are non stop koko bananas action , Sleep in and come out at 07:00 its always a better day on the water than any day at work. LBT1
  22. My sons first Big King ever ! 20 lbs and diving deep
