  1. i was pretty sure it never froze over, but after "googleing"it,you may be right glen, but, all the info that says it has was from the canadians, ill dig a little deeper.
  2. lake o has never froze 100% as long as records have been kept.i believe the winter of 78-79 was the most ice coverage which was around 75%,last year was close.
  3. pm me your number,my boss has a friend that is a mechanic at a dealership out there, maybe he can help you out.
  4. is that 2.5 on a fishhawk or subtroll????just kidding, but for those of you who didnt make the lotsa salmon school, there is a difference.sorry paul.
  5. i went to fat nancys when she started getting hot to get some extras.i think thats what they gave me,but it just didnt look "exactly"like what i had.again,im no expert and dont know the fly names.im going to work on that this year.
  6. there was alot more white "tinsel"than whats left, but it caught fish right till the end.this set up was our best f/f of the year.
  7. talked to a buddy yesterday who was at mexico point and said the bay is full of ice as far as the eye can see.we stopped at wrights landing and mexico point after the lotsa show 2 weeks ago and there wasnt a piece of ice on the lake.it kinda got my juices flowing!!!!
  8. to be honest,i have no idea, dont even know what brand,i have been learning spoon names and flasher names the last 2 years,so this year i am going to work on the fly names.this combo had so much action this past season that there isnt much left of the fly.hopefully someone can i.d. it,cause id like to get a replacement, however, what worked last year, doesnt mean its gona work this year!!!!i will dig it out later and post a pick, maybe one of the pros will know what it is.
  9. thats really cool to give someone on here that kind of discount!!!post it in the classifieds, might help, especially this time of the year.
  10. unless money is an issue,i wouldnt trailer when you could slip your boat.like was stated above you may have to wait 15 minutes just to launch, then same thing coming out and trailering to where ever you are staying.i make the trip in and out all summer long, really isnt a big deal.have an egg sandwich and coffee and by the time you are done you are at the lake ready to troll!!!!if you rent a cabin at mikes, they may give you a deal on the slip, its worth asking.
  11. dont have much of a choice, they are the only 2 that i know of on the little river and dont think the light house rents transient slips on the big river.
  12. mikes marina on the little salmon in mexico.315-963-3119.thats where we slip our boat.nice marina.gas dock, fish cleaning stations, porta potties.they also have 2 cabins for rent.really cheap!!!not anything special, but clean.if you need more info, send me a pm.
  13. poker and fishing,2 expensive addictions, but lots of fun!!!!!!
  14. didnt get enough in niagara falls????haha
  15. we have gone the last two years, lots of stuff for sale so bring some CASH!!!!
  16. good point jeff, forgot to mention, controll king only works on 4-strokes.
  17. i installed a control king last year and it works great.my kicker is tied in the front with a tie rod bar to the main engines for turning and use the control king for throttle,no need for controls as long as the motor has a lever on the side to put it in gear.if you cant run a tie rod bar in the front, you can get an ez-steer which ties the motors together from the back.
  18. i just got a letter from beth and mike stating that the little salmon river challenge will be july 25th,weekend after sodus pro-am.
  19. anyboat will work on certain days.there is a team out there fishing tournaments and doing good out of a similar boat to yours, not sure how they do it,but they do!!!!we started out with a 16' tin boat.out grew it rather quickly, but we made it work.ive seen party barges and speed boats out there trolling also.may be tough mounting riggers and rod holders depending on the gunwhales, but should be doable.you have to be smart and pay attention to weather forcasts and pick your days.once you catch your first king out in the lake you will probably shopping for another boat and a ton of other things also.BEWARE...... KING FISHING IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!!!!good luck and feel free to send me a pm with any other questions,id be glad to help.
  20. this was a great weekend, mark, greg and paul answered hundreds of questions and offered up great info and advice.these captains are top notch.besides the seminar on saturday,we made a few of the 1 hour seminars on friday which were also great.the lotsa market place today had a ton of stuff for sale with lots of good deals.this was our first time and will be back next year.if anyone thought about going this year and didnt, make sure you make it out next year!!!!
