  1. Yeah you should be able to let the bottle hang, just make sure your connections are tight. I bought an 11 pound Manchester tank for ice fishing and love it. It’s the same diameter as a 20 pound tank so it doesn’t tip over like other smaller diameter tanks. The only drawback is that is 2X the price of a 20 pound tank. I ordered it online through Ace Hardware and had it shipped to our local store. ($60). Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Most major retailers have them now, which is nice to see. They are a little cheaper on Walmart’s website with free shipping to store. Dick’s Sports also puts them on sale a couple times a year. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I had one of these....Traxstech bracket for hand reel or mounting a grill....but I sold it. Never did mount the grill. I think it would be easy to fabricate one. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Ahh, ok thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Do you also use a backer for the spool before the 19 strand? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Awesome, sounds great thanks. Yes, I plan on using it for deep walleye as well. I’m going to try one rod this summer and will add more later. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Cool, thank you FIshmaster. I'm going to give it a try and send it down the chute this spring/summer.
  8. Are you guys also using Torpedo's 19 strand wire with the weighted wire? I have a size 50 Saltist LC that I'm debating between full core and weighted wire. I have several other core reels, just have never tried wire or copper.
  9. Yes, that is a good deal. Almost half price of new.
  10. Yeah this was the very first year that he actually felt nervous about going out. It's kind of a tough area where we fish. We drive out 4 miles or more to the shipping channel...in the dark...in a snowstorm, etc. Very easy to get turned around. I grew up ice fishing and fishing in remote Canada. My Dad seems to have the ice fishing locked in. I take him trolling in the summer.
  11. Thanks PAP. I actually wasn't there with him (though I should have been). It didn't work out with my schedule this year. My nephew and his semi-professional fishing buddies took care of him.
  12. Small world. I am an engineering professor at Lake State. Yeah, we have one of the best fisheries in the mid-west.....at least I think so. You can catch almost every species in a 50 mile radius and we have access to Superior, Huron, Michigan and several inland lakes and streams.
  13. Thank you! I will tell him.
  14. My Dad (79) won 2nd place in our local ice fishing walleye tournament on Munoscong Bay, on the St Mary’s river system between Lake Huron and Lake Superior. 7.23 pounds, which is fairly small this year. Caught it on a white jack spoon with a minnow head, 35 FOW. Usually a 7 pound fish would be closer to 8th place. He won an Ion X electric auger. Two weeks ago he bought a regular Ion and sold two of his gas augers. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I keep all my overflow in 3 sizes of Special Mate boxes (spoons, cranks, spinner baits) and Plano 758 boxes go in the boat. I have one 758 for each species type that I fish. I wait for them to go on sale. I’ve tried just about everything and this combo works for me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Some people are more sensitive to Propane than others. I read where it is like 1 out of 50 get headaches. I have a buddy and a big buddy and they don’t bother me. I also have a Nuway propane furnace that does bother me, but I need to install a chimney pipe for it. You can also buy a battery operated CO detector, though I haven’t tried one in a fish shack. Hopefully the Buddy heater will solve your problem. I believe they burn more efficient than other radiant heaters. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. I had the same issue. I didn’t want to buy a new net, so I ordered a ProMar hook resist replacement net and mounted it on my existing frame. I should have done that years ago. I don’t think I paid more than $30 for the replacement net. Purchased it on EBay. Other sites have them too. I don’t remember what size I bought, but you have to measure your net. It’s rubber coated but not as heavy as a solid rubber net. Does not tangle anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Can they survive in fresh water? Cormorant control! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Very nice. Congrats to Jr! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Amazing. Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Wow, wish I would have seen that sooner. Now the Saltist LC isn’t even showing up on their site.
  22. Yeah Franks seems to have the best prices for the Off Shore products, especially their inline board combo packs. I’d like to buy their new larger boards, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. If you are running the Off Shore brand inline planer boards, you can replace the bracket pinch pad release with their black Snapper release that will work for braid or core. I lost two boards, then finally bought a few snapper releases after a friend suggested them. https://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/snapper-adjustable-release.html Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Ahh ok. You are welcome. There is some on EBay for $44 + 9 shipping approx. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
