They still catch fish! As a matter of fact I put out a doctored up old NK mag spoon that hasn't been used since the 90's
it just looked right for what they were hitting on and sure enough a big whack on the spoon run off a chinook dive, pulling drag and after 15 seconds he came undone
Great fishing right out front we fished 75-90 FOW 40 to 65 down.We had some problems keeping fish buttoned up and had 2 break offs on nice kings. Finished up 8 for 17 with 6 kings and 2 lakers.
you could have fooled me fleas so heavy they were sticking to rigger cables and the hooks on my spoons
Lines had to be checked and cleared every 15 minutes.
This was right around the end of July and 1st 2 weeks of August
I land them on 12 lb without a problem
Again you need to know how to fight a fish , drag set correctly and don't horse the fish
Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
If you want to catch lakers get some cowbells and fish them 1 to 2' off the bottom likely in 100-140 FOW
June can be a tough month to fish as the lake is in flux and changing,The thermocline likely won't be set up yet.
Offshore scum lines and surface temperature breaks can lead to good steelhead fishing.
Just wanted to comment on the great customer service Fish Hawk provides. The down temp and speed on my unit wasn't functioning.
After speaking with Fish Hawk I had my buddy bring his prob and head unit. After mixing and swapping we determined it was my head unit.
I call Fish Hawk on last Monday morning and explained what was wrong. She asked for my name and address and said we don't want you to be without it so we are sending one right out. Wed. afternoon I had a brand new head unit sitting at my door.
Kudos to Fish Hawk for a great product and even better customer service!
