Do u keep the walleye from the Genny?? I have heard they taste like cream ale.[emoji12]
  11. I wonder why its regarded by DEC biologists as 'feel good'? Is it Due to the number number of fish stocked to the relatively large overall size of the fishery? It seems any and all support is helpful.
  12. Its interesting...... I have never caught a walleye under 21" in clayton area..... It sounds like there may be a pronounced size density curve in the population as u move from the lake down river.... Wonder why that might be?? Some of the earlier posts here indicate walleyes to be roamers.... You might think different sized fish would disperse more evenly throughout the river?
  13. In Chaumont, Try around Long Point state park and in toward the ithsmus. Lots of weed beds and ledges to work in that area. Should produce northern and pickerel. Good luck!!

  16. The Several guides I know are activists in the conservation community. They volunteer their time, expertise, and resources to better our fisheries. We all are in this together.

    Cross Lake

Didnt realize silver bass were in other lakes...., thought they were just in Lake O.
  18. Good luck! Its tough going for smallies but can be done this time of year. Crabs are usually hot in august if fishing live bait. Fish will be deeper as they have now transitioned. Good luck!!
  19. Right on the money, Ronix.... You cannot believe the gear muskies shred to pieces!!! When u put in 45-50 hrs to get one shot at landing the fish of a lifetime......You DO NOT want a terminal tackle failure. In this muskie fishing economy its a season to as season and a half between fish on the SLR for some anglers ( depending on how much time you have to put in each fall). The right equipment is critical to landing the fish and safely releasing it. Do some research on the web and dont be afraid to pick up the phone and call a local muskie guide for their opinion.... They should be willing to share basic equipment requirements as well. Always good to ask a pro in my opinion. As far as baits go.... Believer, depth raider, grandma, and Reef Runner 900s are a decent place to start. Good luck to you.
  20. It is our duty as fellow boaters to assist one another in times of distress..... Im not sure if it's "law"or not but it should be. It certainly is a law to live by..... If my boat is ever taking on water 10 miles off shore.... I hope someone is inclined to respond. I know that I would do the same. Its the right thing to do no matter what the emergency. I would rather respond to a distress call than have to make one. Be safe out there.
  21. To kevins point, I know several guides as well....Excellent bass fishermen. They are having a difficult time catching a one person limit most days...... This is in no way a reflection of ability...... The fishery is suffering.... Also, I cant remember the last time I cleaned a walleye with anything in its gut but a gobi on the SLR.
