  1. Welcome, good luck, and awesome handle!! Lol
  2. Sportcraft makes a sweet rig. Wonder why they dont make the 25 in an inboard?? Very nice boat just the same. Good luck with sale. Will make someone a very mean fish chasing machine.
  3. Thank you... It was a team effort and I definitely played more of a supporting role.
  4. Enjoyed Great company, picture perfect weather once the rain cleared, and picked away at the eyes. A one man limit of eyes and several ambitious rock bass. The pot of gold was a bonus.
  5. This rainbow presented itself before shoving off to chase eyes on the river for a few hours yesterday evening. It was the brightest and most vivid rainbow I have ever seen. What a treat.
  6. I cant speak to the back order issue Rtic is having....Except that as a consumer products mfg in this economy thats a good problem to have from their point of view..... They better iron out production issues or the demand wont last. As for the sizes offered, I bet the 100qt has lower sales volume to warrant the cost of putting it into production. Bet as the company matures we will see the big boys come out.
  7. Smart to face the Devil head on, lol....Its not pretty either way sometimes but full disclosure works out to shortest fire fight in duration usually....... Dont make direct eye contact and play dead in the event of a charge! [emoji12][emoji23]
  8. Thanks for the great info PAP, bobby, and Kevin..... Know I can always count on the great guys here at LOU to help a poor soul out. Dont fish the lake very often ( couple times of year open water)........ Picking a spot to start in such a vast ocean is daunting. The guy im fishing with has more lake o experience but he just got into town for the summer and this will be his first time fishing this year. I will keep you posted on results. Thank you all again. Tight lines.
  9. The state keeps the limit at 3 so us average anglers dont get our egos bruised too badly.... It feels better to miss a limit by 1 or 2 rather than by 3 or 4!!! [emoji23]
  10. That was my thought too.... But the fish I caught had fairly large zebras in its gut. Some of them seemed too large to be ingested by a gobitron. I dont believe they were all in the gobies... But then again, what the heck do I kno, lol.
  11. Im fishing Ontario eyes with a buddy for the first time this season. Wondering if anyone has had any luck around Stoney Isl, Calf Isl, Duck Isl, etc. Kinda looking for a place to start. Launching from Chaumont. Any and all thoughts very much appreciated. Thank you in advance and Tight lines!!
  12. Yeti= overpriced...... There are several other rotomolded brands that are equally absurd as it relates to price..... Rtic seems to be a good value for performance.
  13. Good stuff Kevin!! Great memories being made there.
  14. Incidentally, as Im sure all of you probably know.... (I didnt until I read a neat biology white paper on walleye) the suction method of striking that walleye employ, is why us anglers experience the infamous short strike..... If our terminal gear is too heavy to be easily taken into the walleyes mouth during the gill flare they short strike. As a relative newbie to walleye fishing, thought this info was pretty cool.
  15. Kevin, nice limit. I caught an eye earlier this season that had 2 large gobies in its stomach and a lot of Zebra muscles, as well. At first I thought maybe they were in the gobies but I quickly realized some of the zebras were likely too big to be eaten whole by a gobie. I guessed ( after doing some reading) that the zebras may be in the stomach due to feeding on the gobies holding to bottom. When a walleye feeds it flares its gill plates and inhales a column of water sucking its prey into its mouth.... I suspect this garners the gobie and some zebra muscles simultaneously. In instances where the gobie manages to evade the strike, I bet the walleye occasionally gets a mouth or throat full of zebras.... Just a theory based on how eyes predate.
  16. Bombers 15a are killer..... Very good point Fisherman. I hammer them on royal flush.
  17. No doubt about it.... They put up a great fight. Bowfin get a bad repp but they are a really neat fish.
  18. Nice fish!! Great narrative too.... Congrats. Love to see the mount.
  19. Really nice Northern! I wonder if the chains have more opportunity to gain traction due to the recent stress/decline the northern fishery has experienced in this part of the river??
  20. That 5th wheel camper is a little hard to troll. Not a lot of flash either, lol.
  21. Cant deny the yuck factor there....... I suppose like with any animal, if you clean enough of them some will have parasites...... But some are better than others I guess. Never seen a red worm. I will be looking now!
