  3. They r in clayton..... Perch and other fish hammering them for last couple weeks.
  4. Great work, gentlemen. The alewives are in right now around clayton according to my friend who fishes perch nearly every day. The perch have been feeding on them.
  5. They do show up anywhere anytime.....Also noticed they are getting bigger on the river. They can hit like a ton of bricks when dropshotting. Fun fish to catch. My grampa always called them sh$& fish growing up.... But I think they tast pretty good.
  6. Boat is in beautiful shape.... This will make someone a sweet rig. Good luck with sale.
  7. Sounds like a great morning, Kevin. The Pictures are just fantastic.
  8. That is a nice sized Eye. Well done and Welcome.
  9. The old timers at hunting camp on the Tug tell the story about one of our original late members, a logger by trade, who trapped fisher to pay the annual property taxes..... For a couple years during the 70s the DEC was paying top dollar for fisher that were trapped and brought in live to be studied. The story goes that the fisher were so nasty and tough (just like the logger as it would happen) that they broke through all but one of the metal cages used to transport them. The logger had it timed.... He knew he had about 40 minutes before the thing broke free and he had to dance with the devil, lol. He trapped 5 that season, taxes were paid, life was good. One of natures impressive small powder kegs.
  10. Thats a good sized one too. Nice pic, man.

I love the lines of this particular design.....It has a little bit of that bertram Moppie look. Gotta love that!!
  12. Mother nature is incredible..... Even seemingly calm conditions on the Great lakes warrant constant vigilance it would seem. Humbling stuff.
  13. Rodger..... Thank you v
  14. My buddy, an avid fisherman, says great things about the american angler..... He has had his for 6 years. They just came out with a new more powerful model..... And the transmission is all metal. Also, its made by ginsu so i guess the blades are pretty good quality. But the new model is $95.00!! Guess if you can get 10-15 years out of it thats pretty cheap money[emoji848]
  15. I sympathize with your frustration. Doing business like that speaks to ones character. Not a hand you want on your boat in a storm.
  16. A local population stays in the bays but you have to put your time in figuring them out. I have a buddy that does ok in BRB and Chaumont bay all summer trolling worm harnesses for eyes. He has them pretty well dialed in. But as bettieanne indicated majority of the 'herd' chase bait in the big O. Better luck out there I would guess.
  17. X2 Irish Hammer. Capt Paul is the man. Good luck.
  18. Good luck Roy! Look forward to your reports.
  19. Just burned up my 2nd Mr Twister Fillet knife(green) after just one year of service... Soooo, Im in the market for yet another fillet knife. I have heard good things about the american angler. What are your thoughts and recommendations? It would be nice to own a knife that passes the one year mark, lol. Cheers!
  20. Tried the ProfT recommended bacon wrapped walleye cube seasoned with old bay and salt for fathers day..... Instant hit with the family. Thank you for the post and the many great suggestions here guys.
  21. Interesting information Jperch. I bet they would be incredibly effective when used in that application. I wish they were all sterile!! Grass, Silver, Big Head, Black..... The whole lot.
  22. Wild Grass carp are prolific breeders..... They do require specific conditions in which to breed. Long rivers are ideal breeding habitat. There are sterile grass carp which I believe are hybrids?
  23. Article from the montreal gazette regarding the asian grass carp found near montreal.
