  1. It seems to us that as summer goes on the use of spoons gets better. But basically we use a standard one ounce jig with a white tube, the thin tubes get down the fastest what we look for. With a good depth finder look for bait or fish and with the electric motor hold over them and drop. Now most people fish in the 60 to 90 range but we end up in over 100 a lot of times. Watch your lure on the depthfinder and see how the fish react. A lot of times you can not reel in fast enough. You will get bumpies, just hitting the lure with their head to disorientate the bait fish and other times an express train going east = hold on...
  2. The weather this week has keep us home bound. I am even painting the porch (blah-don't like to paint).....jk
  3. We go there most every other week because my buddy likes that lake. Up until two season ago we did good, real good with mid sized lakers u to a max of 32 inches but heavy and a lot of fish. BUT the alewives died off (why???) and the fish are smaller and much thinner. We get a limit most every time but now 24 inchers are the monsters there and they are thin. If you are going there the bluffs (where the two forks meet) is the most common spot It seems to us the east fork, the futhur up you go the smaller the fish. The west fork half way to the state park has the biggest fish. We used to always fish the south end. I prefer Cayuga for size but my main buddy likes Keyuka......jk oh we are jiggers not trollers
  4. "Henrybud" footage, that is a good one
  5. By the way beaver here in Pa have five front toes and back toes also. Just saying.....jk
  6. Not possum, their front toes are spread out, I am staying with coon. Lakers are cannibals and will eat anything. As a kid working at the NJ boat docks I remember a shark being cut open to find a partial roll of felt roofing paper in its stomach. long time ago.....jk
  7. Yep that is my vote. A trapped coon that he just got around to skinning......jk
  8. Front right foot from a raccoon is my guess. Both cats and dogs have dewclaws so lets them out. Wonder where the rest of the critter is, must be some big ones left in that lake......jk
  9. Thanks for the report, am right now deciding on where to go next.....jk.
  10. Collage campus run off.....jk
  11. Spent this week at the Pa Trap convention, just got back. Will be going up Monday if wer is k
  12. For us on Keyuka it would be day lite to 9 and then a break and a small bit of activity for 11 to 12 and n I would be done in and go home.....jk
  13. Yep that is how it was done in the past. Haven't been there in several years. Been chasing lake trout in Keyuka for the last 6 years. My buddys prefer them....jk
  14. With my back discomfort I will be off the water in 5 hours. Tomorrow we are going to Keyuka, not Cayuga so might be off earlier than that. My buddys choice, not mine....jk
  15. July is a tough month, will have to see what develops. Is there a different tournament next Saturday, opening day of bass?....jk
  16. CPaul & LB88, I agree with both of you guys but have never fished for lakers in the afternoon. I do start early evenings for walleyes though.....jk
  17. I will be there tomorrow---finally.....jk
  18. Darn weather man, I did not go several times because of the forcast and again they said thunder storms and nothing. Be up Friday.....jk
  19. That would take all the fun out of it. I agree, it is nice to met people that you heard from on this web site. You know they are dedicated fishermen.....jk
  20. Sounds like the "blue bucket" talk on Trapperman---a very insiders talk......jk
  21. I'll second that, I am trying to help others too.....jk
  22. This weekend was the most wrong I have seen the weather report in a long time. They really had it backwards. And good call FM13184, no need to take the kids boating in bad weather, could make them not want to go ever again....jk
  23. For those who jig all species but the lakers are hard to come by. We fish almost every week, and between my buddy and I we have only one brown to our reord. No rainbows and very few salmon This jigging not trolling. Good luck it is grat fishery.....jk
  24. I will continue to help people just as other people have helped me all these years......jk
  25. According to the wind now = none and the sun shining I was wrong. But the weather report was for winds over 10 with gusts up to 25.....jk
