    Beeping from throttle control

My first idea is to start your own topic. This thread is 7 years old.

    Great fishing?

All the suggestions above are spot on. You obviously are marking them as indicated by your post asking " what are these ? " I would save up my money and take a couple charters to see what the Pro's are doing differently. Just owning a boat and going out on the water does not make a succsefull angler. With a smaller boat I would try to master the upper and lower Niagara. There is always calm water to be found there,
  3. Don't know why, this is the slowest site that I use. Sent them a inquiry this morning and have not heard back. These trailers are usually in the 7,000 + range. I will keep looking with that price point.
  4. Went to there website and no listing for that trailer. What did you pay for it ? You can PM me if you don't want to go public with it. Yes trailers hold there value in that size range .

    Hit a log

That part of the plate is designed to keep water from spraying back into the stern of the boat while at speed. I highly doubt that there are any hairline cracks in the housing caused by this hit. The most I would do is either sand it smooth or slap some JB weld on it and sand it so it conforms to the deflector plate.

How do I close my acct

  7. Looking for a trailer with a load capacity of 10,000 or greater. To be used on the road, not a yard trailer.

    27' Stamas and trailer

I have a few, older 35mm , just have to find them, google 1973 Stamas 26 flybridge or pilot house , there are pictures on there as well as pictures without the bridge. The model is actually a Americana I believe and was listed as 26' ,never got a accurate tape on her to verify. Visited/toured the factory in Tarpon Springs a couple years after I purchased her,

    27' Stamas and trailer

Sad to see the interior it in that condition. Still has the upholstery that I had made in 87 .I bought it from the original owner in 1985 and owned her for about 15 years then sold it to charter captain in Olcott who must of sold it to P11. Boat was well taken care of and took all that Lake Erie could throw at her and some, had her out in 6- 8' a few times. Built like a tank. Trailer is worth the asking price. Had a Flybridge on her that Po removed. The original owner took it to Fla one winter season and had her in the Bahamas for a week. That was the only time she saw saltwater, was kept at Rich Marina in Buffalo by original and myself ,then ended up on O. Would be nice to see her restored to her glory years.

Lake O Water Level Keeps Dropping

Hot Hot summer = Air conditioning demand = more water let out through control demand/.generating station = lower lake level. And yes historically from August to winter time the water level is lowered.

When fishing boats and sailboats disagree

Maybe " attending " beers ,but not fishing lines unless he was trolling at 20 + mph.. Pretty hard to end up on TOP of another boat at trolling speed, even trolling at Marlin,Tuna etc preferred trolling speeds, Most Captains will not attend to fishing lines on there way back to port,. That's a dockside project, if your insinuating he was not trolling but at speed and cleaning up broken tackle on the way back . And if he was headed out the gear should of been all set before leaving the dock, just saying.

When fishing boats and sailboats disagree

Auto pilot 101 ,unless your tapped into radar collision avoidance someone should at the very least be on look out. Saw a picture on thehulltruth of a 60-70' recently do the same thing to a Forrest Gump boat, luckily no one was seriously hurt. Had before and after pic of 70' it WAS a beautiful sled. I think they were trying to beat a timed weigh in and were hauling the mail.

    Hull difference

OP never mentioned what brand boat he was buying. He may have inferred that it was another Sylvan but we don't know for sure. Secondly I wrote , PROBABLY . Also what Dusty wrote was correct about extra weight being carried and safety. How much gas does it hold ? 60-80 gallons at 7-8 lbs per gallon along with a couple batteries . I would never tow a 22' er with a single axle, aluminum or glass.

    Hull difference

10 % to 15% of your hull weight should be on the ball. So if the boat weighs 4,000 lbs. you should have at the very least aprox, 400 lbs. on the tongue. The big question is what is the GVWR of the trailer ? That figure will tell you if you can carry the boat within the law. The GVWR is also the total weight of the trailer and boat combined. Some trailers will give you the carrying capacity which may easier to figure out if you don't know the weight of the trailer. The odds are it wont work unless the trailer was oversized to begin with. Probably going to need a tandem axle trailer and surge/electric brakes which you might not have on the 18'.
