  1. Bay rats, regular and jointed rapala in the spring, shallow early on if the water is clear. If the water is too scummy I run out to the edge and skim the bottom off riggers with spoons for lakers, they fight real well in the spring. Itching to go fishing!
  2. crapshoot after this wind but it is the time of year to start nailing matures inside regardless of down temp.
  3. Started late morning in about 100 FOW and worked shallow, best luck was between 80 and 90, flasher fly almost on bottom was best, took one on green NBK as well. Marked lots of fish and lots of bait. Currents not as bad as last week went 3 for 5, lost a nice one right behind the boat.
  4. I thought about listing badfish but kind of more about Heroin then water right? RIP Bradley Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath (takes place in the rain) Charon - Kind Diamond Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Iron Maiden (ship turns out OK, crew not so much)
  5. a little late but cant leave out the classic, Baby Shark Baby Shark do do do do do do
  6. Good news, no fleas. Started in 430 FOW nearly straight out maybe a bit east. 48 degrees about 75ft down but varied a bit until fishhawk transducer wire to battery pack broke.. New battery pack is on its way ($15 dollar part). Rigger popped before we finished putting in, buddy picked it up, nothing and I see what was most likely a steelhead jump twice behind the boat. After 3 hours of fishing between 50 and 100ft down and nothing to show we picked up and went inside near coal plant, setup at 150, went as shallow as 90, marked bait and fish, lost another jumper but at least got to fight it for a minute. Learned that carrying extra AA batteries for transducer is just not enough some days
  7. Im heading out of Olcott in an hour or so, reading about bait inside and fish caught deep too.... anyone want to chime in? I will check the app once I am past the break wall. Tight Lines!
  8. Agreed it is slow, yesterday I got out late afternoon took 1 decent bow and a shaker west of olcott 400 ish FOW down about 70ft, spin doctor gator and atomic fly. It was absolutely beautiful on the lake yesterday. Seems to be same as last year around same time when most matures were not biting, should normalize soon.... Missing coho, boated only one keeper all year .
  9. I am an android guy, cant speak to the issue you are having but have deleted the app before on past phones with no issues, account remains. To be clear your account is contained on a server somewhere, removing the app from your phone will not delete your account. Long as you know your username then worst case you will have to reset your password

  12. Been a bit slow lately, please let us know how you do and enjoy the beautiful day!
  13. pretty similar west except no bait.... fished evening out of Olcott, marked fish off and on but never once found bait, lost 1. could have been less waves but the bottom did not look like the teeth of a saw blade on the fishfinder so wasn't too bad
  14. Agree often forecasting sucks Olcott Webcam: https://www.olcottrentals.com/en/786020/marina-webcam - eventually zooms past break wall, that view and view of break wall are useful NOAA is better than nothing as well: https://www.glerl.noaa.gov//res/glcfs/glcfs.php?lake=o&ext=wv&type=F&hr=01
  15. Great to hear your getting back to work, currently furloughed myself and it is not cool. Dunkin commercial takes me back
  16. I definitely suggest planer boards for leadcore, copper and flat lining sticks or spoon with a split shot etc in early season. Not for dipsys but for sure something to have in the arsenal, there are days weighted lines off boards kill compared to dipsy or riggers. I built my boards using cedar and plans I found on this site, if you want the plans PM me and I will find them
  17. Spring kings been on fire out of Olcott. On Saturday I cruised solo almost to Wilson and zig zagged east with the wind towards the launch between 50 and 90 FOW, 6 for 9, two lost fish came on double hookups. Shallow diver green and green glow Bayrats way back or off boards killing it for sure. Sent from my SM-G965U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. No money, there is a sign on the door, stating facilities closed but launches are open free of charge and they will re open other facilities, including the office may 1 subject to change. They had a number up if your looking for a slip. If u need the number I can grab it next time I am there, live near the launch and currently furloughed so planning to be there often as possible when the waves cooperate Sent from my SM-G965U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. left the house about 2 so guessing 3 ish? Was not out long before the bite started
  20. Auto inflating belt way to go, as often as not I will forget it is there until I sit in the truck
  21. Shakedown lead to a few hours of fishing, the goose egg at the launch was a bit ominous but boat ran fine. East troll between 18 and 28 FOW, barely past Krull Park hooked a nice king and while fighting it hooked into another. 3 for 5, 2 nice kings and a small bow, lost 2 nice ones, guessing one was foul hooked, nearly spooled me. Green Bayrat shallow diver 300 ft back and dark green NBK spoon with gold back, leadcore off boards 1.5 colors out. All the fish were feisty per usual spring fish and returned to fight another day. Day was beautiful and it was real nice being out.
  22. Me too! Check me out on left, this is from late 80s.... My buddy was pissed, we filled our punch cards, I caught the king I was holding, 2 out of 3 of the silvers my buddy was holding and the cabezon in his other hand as well.... I have been a mile out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca (before cell phones) stopped to fiddle with something and realized I had taken on a LOT of water.... FORGOT PLUG... Brought her up to plane (thank goodness she got there) and after it drained put the plug in from the inside, scared the crap out of me.
  23. Totally agree. The part about mouths hardening I was unaware of so from now on anytime after mid August if I lose a fish that is my new excuse
  24. Not sure about that area but I launch out of Olcott and last few times I have been out current has been strong. Having to do almost 5mph SOG to get 2.5 at the ball depending on direction. Fish hawk worth its weight in gold but did not have on my old boat so I would watch blowback angle on rigger lines and listen as they will sort of howl or groan when going to fast. Find the bait and keep going back over it that way you are changing directions a lot and you can get a feel for the current and adjust accordingly
  25. Our boy Waffles, if I so much as touch the boat he goes ballistic, high pitched yipping and tapping his front paws on the floor really fast.
