9/6/21 Storm
seeyawader replied to Chuck Smth's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Holy cow, you were out in the lake in that? How big a boat were you in? The rod wasn’t the only lucky thing to be recovered. At least 50 mile an hour winds. Hail too -
One a piece for that weekend was pretty good in my opinion, I fished Saturday and Sunday morning and only boated one steelhead, not a lot of nets going in the water from my view and a ton of boats…talked to a few fisherman at Mexico launch and ones and twos seem to be the norm,,warm water to the bottom in the bay to about 80 feet didn’t help,,,hope no one was out on the lake on Monday when that storm blew about 50 mile an hour winds and hail, was a sight to see and bent my truck door backwards,,,crazy short storm and a boat flipper…

Sold / Closed trolling at night for salmon
seeyawader replied to Thephildo0916's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I’ve done some night trolling in front of the salmon river, glow spoons mostly, pull them out and give them a shot with a flashlight to charge them up every once in a while. Not as much fun as daytime in my opinion, I like to see more stuff. Went one time solo on the darkest night and felt like I was in the black abyss. But on the plus side, you probably will have just about the whole lake to yourself with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 boats especially during the week..😀 -
I think that is the fish on motel charter in Pulaski and mike feumano, I thought he had a 42 footer that weighs like 16k pounds,,,he is a Superman at catching fish, not much web presence though but a great fisherman.

Oswego
seeyawader replied to Scalloper 1's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Why does it seem the salmon fishing is always better in the western part of the lake (olcott,Wilson, oak) rather than Mexico, or Oswego? Do those fish migrate to spawn to the eastern end? Or do they spawn out west? I always thought the most fish spawned in the salmon river and Oswego river. Heck, charters in the east are posting pics of Lakers this late in the season and west is still limiting out on salmon.. just look at the Loc derby results,,,,I think I’m ready to shift from Mexico point to the west…sorry for the rant but just wondering… -

Mexico fishing report

I thought they were scattered, until 100 feet I had 75 degrees to the bottom, everyone I spoke with had a slow day. This morning I only went out for an hour and got beat up, still had 2 to 4 footers left over from advisory the night before. I think I only saw 2 boats this morning and maybe 6 tonight, so that explains not many reports. Or they all out real deep. Tonight was dead flat though. -

What a blow last night, 40 + mile an hour winds, every year I like to take a charter trip to fine tune my game and today was the day, Well needless to say with 10 foot waves it was canceled. I was afraid to be near a tree last night never mind the water, hopefully calms and no thunderstorms to follow for this week.
