Lake Champlain advice

Hi all,

I will be visiting Lake Champlain for the first time Sept 19-22 (camping near Plattsburgh - on Valcour Island).

1. Do you know how i can obtain a map with depth contour lines of the lake? (I don't have a navionics card)

2. Keeping in mind that will be in the northern half of the lake (west/NY side) in a 17' boat, any advice regarding trolling for LLs, jigging for lakers, or casting for bass would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! (feel free to PM me)

I am not able to get this far away more than once a year, so i won't be burning up any of your favorite spots

To put on a graph? Or otherwise?  I don't the answer to the first.  To the second, you can download Navionics or Humminbird OneBoat ($25/yr sub required) to your phone and use the charts there.

Hi Chris,

this is probably a stupid question, but if i download Humminbird OneBoat to my phone, will it show my boat on the map (so i can see where i am relative to the contour lines)?

Will show you depths and also will track your boat to see your location

Yes it will and the 25.00 app works great.   Be sure to download the map area to your device and it will work even without a network connection.  I just used that app to drive my new boat from catskill to lake ontario.
