Gps unit only recomendations

I currently have a lowrance combo unit and it just went back for the third time for service. The sonar has always worked great but the Gps side of the unit not so hot. If it comes back again with the same results I'm done with them and will opt for just a gps unit and just use the sonar portion of the lowrance unit. Any suggestion on just a Gps unit??

I have an old garmin it has been rock solid for 5 years, nothing fancy just color with whatever map chip was available back then. It has served me well.

I've run a Garmin color unit also for the past 6 or 7 seasons. No problems and it does the job.
