Any input would be appreciated on some July browns. I’m headed to fair haven tonight to fish Wednesday through Sunday. I am from Maine and have fished out of fair haven 7-8 times in the last couple years. Generally I’m targeting salmon this time of year but the wife is really interested in some big brown trout. I have fished the shore in April with big boards and have done well but never have targeted browns this late in the year. If one was to target browns in July roughly where would be a good starting point? Not looking for any top secret info just some advise. Thank you.

A good place to start would be to drop your probe down to the bottom in 50ft and look for 55-60 deg. If still too warm move out until you find a good difference from surface temp. Set up and work your spoons in that 55-65 deg water

Guys have been doing well on Browns here and like me they are also from Maine. One had 15 on Friday. But many have been doing well all the way from here to Sodas Point. I have got three while trolling for salmon the last two times out. 8-12 lbs.

What he said. Go slow, 1.8 to 2.4
