Lowrance Question

I have a Lowrance Elite 5. The depth reading is stuck on 1.4 to 1.5 fow. I did a hard reset with the zoom in, zoom out and power buttons. No luck. The unit was working as my secondary when I took it off my Thompson. After installing on my Blue Fin I get the stuck reading. Same transducer, same cabling. Cables look OK but there is a little corrosion in the plug of the cable. I sprayed that with a shot of penetrating oil. Transducer, cable or something else? Any thoughts appreciated.

Go into menu find depth range see where it's set at. try different depths setting before putting it  on auto. 

Something else I just thought of check the transducer setting mine's in 83 200 but it can be changed to a 50 200 whatever your transducer is try the other side of it so in other words if you got it on 83 try the 200 Hertz see if you get a better reading then

I did do that yesterday. Tried 70ft, 30 ft. etc. No luck. I did not put it on auto after that though. Would that make a difference?

They say that transducers do go bad after a while. Might be a bad transducer

I have to agree, so try a different transducer, and that way you will know if that's your problem.

Thanks all for the replies. Maybe it's just time for an upgrade. If I can dig up another transducer I'll try that but otherwise maybe it's time to pry open the wallet. BOAT

I have about 8 or 10 transducers I'm not using at the time, but I'm not sure of the frequency of any of them. I know a few are 80/200, but I'm not sure which ones. I guess I could go to the website and check the numbers on them.
