goose bay 1000 islands

I was hoping for some current info.  im 4 hours away from alex bay area.  i wanted to fish goose bay this weekend but i would hate to make the drive if there is no safe ice.  i do have an 8ft ramp so i can get out if the edges have poor ice but other than that not sure if thisi s worth the trip.

id appreciate any help

From Cape Vincent:  The ice is deteriorating rapidly with several places on the river now open water.  If you think the fishing is worth dying for, go for it.
