Some interesting conditions this weekend but parts of both days should be worth taking a look.

Interesting day to say the least. Left port at 5:30 and dropped in 120 and headed north. Picked our way to 570. Picked up a few kings and bows but never say anything consistent. Weather got funky and all the warnings were a little concerning. We pulled and ran back into 120 and finished our trip. Thankfully we found more kings and a nice Atlantic.
Took shots on just about everything we ran with no top producer. Ended the day with 9 kings, 5 bows, 1 Atlantic and 4 lakers. Folks were happy and went home with full coolers. First time I’ve fished during a tornado warning lol. The weather alerts on the radio were a concern but we kept an eye on the radar and none of the lightning was close to us thankfully.
out again in the morning.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed and came back in without any problems.

I planned to go out as well , but seeing the weather report I got cold feet.

It really never got rough out there. Did have some heavy rain and a little lightning but not close to us. Tomorrow looks fine, just going to delay our start a few hours.

Had six young guys, bachelor party, for this morning. Supposed to be a six hour trip starting at 6. Had to delay the start till 9:30. Was concerned with what we would find after the blow knowing a ton of warm water. Figured we would drop in 120, find temp, and set accordingly. Planned on trolling northwest and cross our fingers. We weren’t very optimistic with a mid morning high sun set.
Rods, all of them, fired. Doubles and a triple. Couldn’t keep them in the water between 120 and 220.
Three hours in we had 15 in the box including 3 over 20. Was awesome. They had had enough as one of the six was sick as soon as we left the dock. Pulled lines and headed to port. Have to love it when folks are thrilled with a three hour trip. Have them a cooler out of my truck for their fish. The ones they had was more suitable for six packs. Great day and weekend.
