another copper ?

Is there any special rod to use for copper like the wire rods? Does it need a twill tip? Or will a regular rigger rod work? Just got a pre spooled set up from cabelas for 25.00 that's backing and 300' of copper and leader now i need to know what type of rod to use have some laying around or do i need to buy a new one for copper? Thanks

I run coppers on 9'6 daiwa heartlands. You dont need a twilli tip or roller rod if you do not have one.

Any rod w/ some backbone will do. I like the Okuma Classic 7' ($19). No need for special guides, copper is soft.

downrigger rods are a little soft. dipsey rods are way to stiff. the heartland downrigger are good though, and cheep. 8.5 foot heartland downrigger rods are what i use.
