Sandy Creek Legacy report 8-27

Recommended Posts

It was tough not to fish the inside screen this morning. Inside of 100 fow was absolutely loaded with hooks and bait, so we spent the morning chasing fish inside. After a slow start and an almost nonexistent shallow King bite, we quickly changed gears and snuck into 65-70 fow and targeted Browns. Riggers 50, 50, 60, & 70', 10 color cores, 300' coppers, and divers 100-150' all loaded with spoons, all got bites. NBKs, orange dot, mixed veggie, fruitcake, orange NBK, black fin, green dolphin to name a few. We did dump a major off a 300' copper in which a tight drag led to a bent over hook. Multiple doubles today but also alot of dropped fish. Half of the fish we hooked into we dumped. We just couldnt keep them on. 20+ bites but only half made it to the net. The ones we did net, fell off in the boat. Down temp was critical for us today and finding and targeting cold pockets of water in 65-70 fow was key for us because temps were all over the place in there. Nothing over 10# for us this morning but still a bunch of fat Brownies.

We were able to boat 4 browns and 2 steelhead one of the cromers was just under 10 and most of the browns were 5-7 lbs. The lake is becoming a very frustrating thing as of late. Where are all our BIG MAJORS ????????? Haven't had a screamer in last 4 trips.:headbang::swear:
