Downrigger question

Just wanted to know if on the Cannon 10a downriggers if I can take the 12-18 boom off and replace it with a telescopic boom that goes out to 52 inches? I have a set of Walker's now and I either want to keep them and add the Cannon's and run 4 downriggers this year for the kings... or swap the Walker's out and just keep the Cannon 10a electric ones on. I got a good deal and will be picking them up next week.

Booms are interchangeable on the Cannon's.
