Chrome Sharks

I'm having a bit of a difficult time finding a pair of 15# chrome sharks.

Anywhere to pick up a few?

Do I need 15# with a Depth Raider, or will 12# do the trick?

I want to make a one time purchase and not have to change later.

Get the 15# for the DR. It'll reduce whatever blowback you experience. Screwy Louies in Fair Haven should have them.

i use 12# sharks and have very little bow back and run at speeds from 2.2 to 3.5

Is that 12# on a rigger with a DEpth Raider Probe? I didn't want to read anyting into your statement

i have a subtroller. but my buddy who has a depth raider, he also use 12# shark. the depth raider has a smaller probe then the subtroller. he hardly gets alot of bow.

Actually, I've seen side by side tests done on the same boat, there is no less blowback on a DR probe (I have a DR), the ST and DR probes are the same diameter, the DR probe is just shorter, the diameter is what makes resistance, not the length.

A lot of the drag also comes from the coated cable on the Moor and the DR. The shallower you fish, the less blowback you'll notice. Believe me, when we're fishing with 140 FOC out we definitely notice the difference between the 12# and the 15# Sharks.
