KawiKid 2 Posted August 7, 2014 Hey guys, just wondering how the bluffers area is looking and what depths are people fishing. My dad and i are heading out tomorrow and spending a couple days on the lake, wondering if we should troll E to whitby area or if the fish are on the move west. Any help would by much appreciated. Was out in Bronte last weekend and got a couple of teens on spoons.. I had forgot my flies and meat at home and didnt realize until we were on the water.. That launch at bronte is terrible for my boat and I probably wont be launching from there again... Good luck out there!
sea yea 2 0 Posted August 7, 2014 Other than a couple nice fish last weekend it has been slow for me, fish are scattered everywhere due to cold water up to 30-40 feet. I will be out sat-tues so i will put up a report at some point. I will be in the white bowrider sat, mon, tues. See ya out there!

Great launch and plenty of parking. $12 and a short run to Bronte waters.
KawiKid 2 Posted August 8, 2014 Yea! i love that launch, closer for me as well. I actually had really good luck just coming out from there last year for bows, my dad pulled in what we thought to be a skamanian not far past the bridge there.. FIERCE fish! sea yea 2 0 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) I went out this morning as well but it didnt go too well, went about 6-14 with only one good fish that got off. Couldnt buy a break today... Except when my rigger cable snapped and donated a 10 lb ball to the lake. I also had bilge issues and my trailer winch handle started slipping at the launch. Tommorow is another day though and ill be back for more. Nice fish lol Edited August 10, 2014 by sea yea
Reef-Runner 0 Posted August 10, 2014 My son and I started at Bluffers and went east for a couple of hours. We finally pulled them up and drove to Frenchman bay where we marked plenty laying on the bottom but only managed 1 for 2 hits. The interesting part of this story is the 20 pounder we pulled out was dark as though he'd been staging for weeks in the shallows. Good luck tomorrow let me know how you made out Reef-Runner. KawiKid 2 Posted August 12, 2014 Hahah jeeze @Sea Yea, we had some issues in the am, boat had a loose battery connection and my Dad blew my drift sock apart first thing. Other than that it was a great day haha Hopefully I can make it out again shortly, seems to be picking up. The salmon this year have been doing some weird things, it seemed like everything was a couple weeks behind this year, so that definitely is a bit odd to find a salmon like that, in my mind anyways, who knows.. maybe he found some warmer waters?
