Don't buy the Sport pilot. They are discontinued and no longer have parts to fix them. I installed a Simrad ap14 on Jax's boat and it is a great unit.

if the sport pilot is in good working order its a good deal. A bunch of us have the sport pilot, mine works fine and so does my friends.

about 1400 for the simrad.

Well my buddy did mine, but that was on my other boat. I am about to install it on the new one next week. Its not too bad.

Depending on the size of your steering shaft you might have to get a sleeve for it. I have the part number if you need it as I needed it and they are in stock at Raymarine. You have to go thru west marine to get it though unless you want to pay 35 bucks for shippin for a 7 dollar part.
