what made me a fishing buff?

I have not been a fishing buff until recently. I had this small trip with some friends to a lake in Kingston where we planned to stay in a resort. But later that day we booked a boat and experienced a good fishing trip in lake Loughborough in the sun. Since that day I always wanted to go fishing whenever possible. I bought a fishing rod, canoe and all that is need to go fishing in the same old place. My friends were as excited as me. But we couldn't plan it well. So we changed the plan to a day on a boat and rest for camping. We are planning to find a campfire area where we can rest instead of resorts or hotels. Couldn't find a suitable place online for it. There is a forest near to that. But not much people go there. Kind of a stranded place. We have already booked the tickets. Any advice for the trip?
