Yankee's Tightline Event and 8/4 charter

Recommended Posts

Summer Tightline event:

Our team took 9th at the Summer The King of Kings Shootout on the North Shore this weekend. Boy are there some big fish on the Canadian side! Congrats to Moby Nick Fishing Charters on the win!

We had absolutely nothing in practice on Friday. A good buddy Mike Rumig tipped us off to what was going down on the North shore, and we went to work. We fished the Pickering area today in 40-70' of water, and deployed our Familiar Bite tipped meat rigs. We ran Ballyhoo, Atlantic, and Pacific Herring today. All took fish. We had a hot 50' diver in the morning, and a productive 200' A-Tom-Mik Mfg. copper later in the day. We ground out 12-15 bites and fished almost as clean as you can.

It was great seeing our North shore friends, and as always the event was run as good as it gets.

8/4 @ the Oak:

We had a couple of father and son groups from Western New York out with us this morning. We didn't think the wind forecast was that bad, but Lady O built fast. 3 out of 5 crew members fell victim to the rough seas and contributed their internals to the lake.

We started our North troll at the 25N line and it was gang busters right out of the gate. We ran spoons on all three Cannon Downriggers (Green Shorts, UV Two Face Glow, and Sea Sick Waddler) down 40-75'. Couldn't keep them in the water! We had a spoon diver going at 200' on a 2.5 setting pulling a Carbon 14, and a 125' diver on a 2 setting pulling Familiar Bite Ballyhoo. The 300' A-Tom-Mik Mfg. copper was also pulling FB Ballyhoo with success.

We cut the trip short after the little guy got sick fighting the last fish. The group can't wait to do it again, but hopefully with better weather.
