  2. I've used that knot on the dr cables as well in a pinch and no problems at all. Just not on the one with the probe. Every since Tim posted it way back when. I've run all my wires with it and never had a problem as I did with the crimps on occasion. A lot quicker and easy-er with no chance of weakening the wire with the crimp version.
  3. Due to permit issues & typical government bureaucracy  it still is not open yet.
  4. Here's the link Ray: http://rochester.craigslist.org/boa/634620078.html It looks like the omc bracket we talked about.
  5. Try this thread http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishin ... php?t=4308
  6. Welcome to the board Ira. Alot of good people & info here.
  7. Anybody thinking of coming in or out of Port Bay. Take notice that it is not totally open or navigable yet even for a smaller boat. Just a heads up. I'll post where it stands & when it's completed.
  8. If it's on a trailer you'll have to drain the block & manifolds when you pull it and drop the drive so that will drain as well if there is a chance of freezing temps. Not a big deal. Just takes a few minutes after you pull it.
  9. Are you going to leave it slipped in the water or trailer it?
  10. Well I wasn't going to post a reply to this thread because I figured there would be to many that disagreed with me. Run it at 800 to 1800 hundred for a 1/2 an hour or so at the dock with no load varying back and forth to beak in the cam, lifters, and rings. Change the oil with a new filter and if you already didn't at start up initially, fill the new filter with oil before you install it before restart. ( if possible that should be done at every oil change ). Then as allout said run the dang thing varying rpm's & speed on plane for 4 ta 5 hrs and have at it with your normal trolling & engine maintenance after that I'm sure J'Bill will chime in here as well.
  11. Should be there. Look it over and give me a call when you see the pics..
  12. Shush Ray it's a surprise. Did your son get that e-mail?
  13. Thank's Gambler I'll give them a call.
  14. K guy's. I"m looking for a complete blown motor or just a lower unit for an older 20 or 25hp Johnson or Evinrude. Vintage: 1970 - 80. It's on my work boat and I'm out of used parts to put the lower back together. For what we use it for I'd asoon not go the new parts rout. Short or long shaft makes no difference.
  15. That is why I asked the year. Thompson is known for structural problems as allout mentioned above and even with low hrs on it. It would have no bearing on the stringers, transom, or hard top supports. Have it looked over closely for any problems before you decide on it.
  16. 15# big game in the spring. 30# when the fleas show up with floro leader. Never a problem. Great line at a reasonable price.
  17. 1st offence whether it be a DWI / DUI in NYS is classed as a misdemeanor unless there are other charges with it. If it happens again within 10 years then it turns into a felony but Canada doesn't look at it that way i guess as Warning said above. Do a google search on it and you'll see the info.
  18. Switch back if your going back to mono.
  19. Dang You 2 are gettin a bit harsh on the old guy. Just use the old line to tie him down cept for one hand & elbow, put him next to the cooler & your good ta go.
  20. Not a problem Tom, anytime. Hope it works out ok.
