  1. Dang I said i stand corrected. Wasnt thinking about the west end.
  2. Check with Ray K. He might have something.
  3. I stand corrected. In this part of the lake we use 14 & 08 most of the time with no problems. Other areas are an other story. Here is the C.G. list of channels. http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtmarvhf.html
  4. Just an update: It is open enough to get in and out. But stay in the middle. It's not dredged completely yet and no buoys yet to mark it. Sorry I'm a little late it's been passable for about 2 weeks now. It won't be fully open as normal until the rest of the permits come in.
  5. Have you tried another battery? Could save yourself any more expense.
  6. Clippers. This link will give you an idea of what they are & forget the rubber band deal he talks about. It's not needed. Just adjust the tension for the line your running. Spin the line into a loop and clip it in. But they can be bought locally at a much more reasonable price. http://www.amishoutfitters.com/clipper.htm

  9. RD I"ll give you a call . But it has to be in forward gear at the shifter and the outdrive indexed to it when you put it on.

  13. Blued: Welcome to the site. There is a ton of info here. Just take the time to go thru it & go from there. But pop-gear and a worm? Tell us more. Mayby Ray kn's more about it as well.
  14. I believe on the old adage my granny told me. ( many years ago ) Get up in the morning. Wet you finger . Hold it up in the air and see what's going on with the wind and weather. If it gets hit by a bolt a lightnin or if you can't hold it up in the wind go back ta bed. All kiddin aside. ( but she was right ) As ww said on another thread. Things are a lot different north of 104 no matter what the buoys or reports say.
  15. Depth Raider. Great unit and if you need anything excellent support.

  17. I've used that knot on the dr cables as well in a pinch and no problems at all. Just not on the one with the probe. Every since Tim posted it way back when. I've run all my wires with it and never had a problem as I did with the crimps on occasion. A lot quicker and easy-er with no chance of weakening the wire with the crimp version.
  18. Due to permit issues & typical government bureaucracy  it still is not open yet.
  19. Here's the link Ray: http://rochester.craigslist.org/boa/634620078.html It looks like the omc bracket we talked about.
  20. Try this thread http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishin ... php?t=4308
  21. Welcome to the board Ira. Alot of good people & info here.
  22. Anybody thinking of coming in or out of Port Bay. Take notice that it is not totally open or navigable yet even for a smaller boat. Just a heads up. I'll post where it stands & when it's completed.
  23. If it's on a trailer you'll have to drain the block & manifolds when you pull it and drop the drive so that will drain as well if there is a chance of freezing temps. Not a big deal. Just takes a few minutes after you pull it.
