I guess no one is going to post the final results for the Fairhaven Challenge or the Atomic Triple Crown. They must be busy chasing King Salmon? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

PLEASE... Use no chemicals, cigarettes, etc to remove a tick. All those things do is accelerate the ticks emptying of its foregut (vomiting) to put more Lyme organisms in your body. The tick key, tick twister or (my favorite) the "ticked off" tool are the only things to use. As a Veterinarian I use the ticked off tool regularly and never leave behind a head to cause an infection.

For Sale : USA Soda Blasting Bottom Paint
drlfc replied to drlfc's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Hello fellow boaters, Fred is from Albany and will be traveling quite a distance to do my job. From my research this procedure is very eco friendly and will not hurt the gelcoat under the bottom paint. It is expensive to have this done but since I have owned my boat for 10 years and have only scraped the bottom once I feel it is time to do a thorough re-coating of the bottom as I leave my boat in the water all season. His travel fee is mileage dependent and may be $300+. So we can split that down depending how many boat owners committ. Your boat needs to be on stands and Mike can do that for a fee. Fred's business is Riverside Dustless Blasting. Here is a link to his web page http://www.riversidedustlessblasting.com. Call him and talk to him...he doesn't bite! Blasting fee is calculated by linear feet x $35.00. Hope this helps. Lou -

I am looking for another boat owner or two to share travel expenses when a soda blasting service comes to Mexico, NY to do my boat. If your boat needs multiple layers of paint removed Fred is your man! He will charge $35/ linear foot of boat plus travel from the Albany area. PM me for more details. I'm looking to have this done over Columbus Day weekend on my boat. Lou -
If you cannot find a fuse panel install one (or more) now. Run 6 gauge marine grade stranded wire from the battery to the fuse panel and hook your electronics to the panel using the appropriate amperage fuses...i.e. 3 amp fuses for electronics and 30 amp fuses for down riggers, etc. I had the same problem and have since installed 3 fuse panels in various places to accommodate the myriad of electrical needs on my boat. I am hiring a service to come to Mexico to soda blast my many layers of bottom paint from my 30 year old Penn Yan on Columbus Day weekend. The fee is $35/ linear foot plus travel. My boat will be put on stands for this procedure and then returned to my trailer afterward. Putting the boat on stands will incur a fee from the marina. If there are any other boat owners that want this service performed while Fred is here please PM me so we can coordinate our efforts. Fred is fully insured and will use baking soda to blast off the old layers of paint on your hull. I can provide more details when you PM me. Lou Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I switched to Big Jon electric planer reels about 3 years ago. My boat is docked all season long...Indoors in the off season. So far they have been bullet-proof. I let them out manually and retrieve them with the motor. Excellent investment in my crew's shoulders!
