  1. When you find the boat you THINK you love have it surveyed by a reputable marine surveyor. He/she will look it over with a fine tooth comb and (hopefully not) find problems you did not see. A survey is well worth the money. Lou
  2. I am looking for another boat owner or two to share travel expenses when a soda blasting service comes to Mexico, NY to do my boat. If your boat needs multiple layers of paint removed Fred is your man! He will charge $35/ linear foot of boat plus travel from the Albany area. PM me for more details. I'm looking to have this done over Columbus Day weekend on my boat. Lou
  3. If you cannot find a fuse panel install one (or more) now. Run 6 gauge marine grade stranded wire from the battery to the fuse panel and hook your electronics to the panel using the appropriate amperage fuses...i.e. 3 amp fuses for electronics and 30 amp fuses for down riggers, etc. I had the same problem and have since installed 3 fuse panels in various places to accommodate the myriad of electrical needs on my boat. 4. I am hiring a service to come to Mexico to soda blast my many layers of bottom paint from my 30 year old Penn Yan on Columbus Day weekend. The fee is $35/ linear foot plus travel. My boat will be put on stands for this procedure and then returned to my trailer afterward. Putting the boat on stands will incur a fee from the marina. If there are any other boat owners that want this service performed while Fred is here please PM me so we can coordinate our efforts. Fred is fully insured and will use baking soda to blast off the old layers of paint on your hull. I can provide more details when you PM me. Lou Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
