  1. Like Tim said they are homemade out of a downrigger boom and a fishing reel. Traxtech makes a nice one that mounts to a hardtop rail , big jon does too.
  2. Glue two sheets to make the one the right thickness. You would have been better off to drill out the rivets. Now you know for next time.
  3. Like Tom says two rigger rods and two wire dipsies Thats our go to set.
  4. Caught this one back in 04. I think it was on the bottom a long time. It had twenty pounds of zebra mussels on it. As you can see its a diawa 47 lc , and a diawa rigger rod.
  5. Doesn't look to portable though Good idea !!! how bad does the car skip? Its always a stinker to get it on good and tight by yourself. That looks like it did the job..
  6. Thats too bad. Always liked his show , even though I have never done any saltwater fishing. His was more of a how to do , not watch me do type of show. Prayers go out to his family.
  7. make them out of some out of tig welding rod , Stainless steel. Careful not to melt the flasher.
  8. You can catch a couple of fish of a single strip, The whole bait is good for one hit, but it usuallly a good one, the Anchovies worked well also. Its is amazing how big the mouth is on one of those.
  9. Sometimes I can't help myself I like shorter leads 4' in the spring. Than longer leads as the season moves toward Fall. You want the bait head to spin in a corkscrew ,not spin head first. You bend the little tab on the back of the bait head to get the right spin. When you change the cut bait you have to recheck it ,because the fillets arn't the same. If you don't catch anything ,atleast you will smell like you did. I put it as the lowest lure in the set. Good Luck
  10. trolling! 11"flasher , lead varies with the time of year. Off dipsie or rigger. Plastic bait head to give it the proper rotation.
  11. There are several threads on this, My vote is for the fishhawk x-4 . There are several others out there and they all have their followers. Subtroll, cannon, etc.
  12. Line counters give you repeatability. If you hit a fish with 150 setting , you can reset easly back to the 150 setting. Pick your days carefully, and have fun.
  13. Bright color stick baits and spoons , fish in the warmest water you can find, Long leads from the boards or flatlines. That and water with a little color is good too. Do a search on Browns and you will find lots of info!!
  14. Taughannock , just like it sounds
  15. I use blacks, put the 5or 6 tight line twists then a couple of streached out loose ones .. That gives me the tightness to crank the rod down and a long enough tag from the release to show a shaker.
  16. Holy cow pictures!!!!! Hey why did you paint your face green in that one shot?????? Looks like you had a great time!!
  17. Try rubber ends for chair legs . You can get them in different sizes and you should be able to find some to go over the net handle. Or crutch or cane ends , you can find them at the drug store
  18. You should be able to , I think the boom size is the same and it should fit right in.
  19. Walmart had flat-raps in their sale box in Cortland. Probably the same at one near you.
