  1. WalMart has a spray waterproofing around $4 per can (brown can if I reacll correctly). This stuff is reasonable & works very well.
  2. Looked at the rules & in Rule 21, they plan on polygraphing fish. Is this a new technology, where the fish does some snitchin???
  3. My favorite is Spring Kings in the Western basin of LO. Just can't be beat for fun, quality, & quanity. Not to mention there are very few blow off days on the Western end of LO.
  4. Clarke; I can give you a couple of hot waypoints for Oneida Lake, depending on what you can say about the Keating presentation.
  5. For those of us who were unable to make the Keating seminar, what were the important takaways from the presentation?
  6. Ray; Here's one I am sure you have dealt with before personnaly: Old lady to the plumber, my toilet is plugged with sh!?, Plumber to the old lady, lady it might be sh!? to you but it is my bread & butter. Just remember to wash your hands before lunch! This is getting to be too much fun!!!!! John
  7. Holy Mackerel; You know what happens when you assume. Nice job on the guide replacement, especially with the wraps under the guide legs, looks very professional! John
  8. Ray; I get it, it is a long way to the bottom of your drain field, maybe you should bring the Scott Air pak. So, I guess you do not use Shimano talora rods either. No wonder you are having issues! Have a great day, & remember to breathe deeply while on the job(s).
  9. Hey Ray; If you looked at my first post above, where I said that you can eliminate worn guides by using roller rods (specifically Talora Roller Rods) you might have understood. I have been running these rods for the last six years with zero problems. I stick to what I said about the Shimano product. I would like to know if the problems stated above by you were with Shimano roller rods? Further, I do not believe they come apart, so if you want to do anything, you could spray them with reel majic or somthing that lubricates periodically. Apparently you only like to comment on my posts where I am questioning what is being said, as I frequently am positive with my posts. I will just consider the source! John
  10. Holy mackerel; The Shimano roller rods do not have this problem when using 30lb 7 strand stainless trolling wire. You may be talking about some cheap immitation or another type of roller rod used for really large line, but what you say above will never happen with the 30lb trolling wire & Shimano Talora rods. Please do not make untrue statements about products. John
  11. Get Shimano 8' Talora rods with roller guides, & your problem will be gone for ever, plus it is much easier to keep heavy pressure on the fish at all times. Constant heavy pressure ='s more fish in the net!
  12. Kind of like the old conundrum, "if a tree falls in the forest & there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound"? Just had to repeat myself, again.
  13. Does the old amature structure still require an observer?

  15. Hans; I have to say that I am a Giants fan, & they did about the same thing last year to end up in the super bowl, So you are correct about peaking at the right time. The Giants beat both of these teams in the regular season & if the pea brain Burres did not almost off himself, the Giants would have had a much better chance to repeat. Without a strong deep threat, the Giants were beatable, by putting 8 or nine guys in the box & holding up the Giants run game. You can't be one dimensional & hope to win in the playoffs. Maybe next year, the Steelers are definately deserving, & I picked them to win. You should be proud of your team, as they played well all year long & especially when it counted!!!!!! John

  17. The best two teams in the NFL were not on the field. Both of the teams that were had some pretty bad losses. So for to looser teams, they put on a pretty good show!!!
  18. Just bought another Shimano 600LC NIB last week, paid $159.95 for the reel & $8.53 for S&H (no sales tax, out of state seller). Baitnhook e-mail baitnhook.net/. So Billy V. you won't be getting the 1,000 feet of wire too, just the 3 reels & a couple of extra bucks.
  19. Gotaway; Right on!! In my post above, I did not mention that I am using Tekota 600LC reels, IMHO these are the very best reels for Lake Ontario Kings, using florocarbon, wire, or superline. The drags are smooth. 4.2 to 1 retrive ratio, & so far the six I have set up have had nearly zero problems. I did change out one drag washer set at no charge to me, as Shimano sent me rougher surface finish washers to make the loading up of the rod on the rigger stay put. With the initial set of washers the reel would creep out line, & you would loose the load up on the rigger rod. Plain & simple, the shorter the rod, the more control of the fish you have. The longer the rod the less control you have of the fish.
  20. Good stuff if you use spin doctors, I like my protrolls!
  21. The longer the fishin pole the more leverage the fish has on you! Use the shortest pole you can get away with. I run Big John out & downs with a four foot boom, & run Talora roller rods 8' long next to them as my wire dipsey set up, & they wok great. My original 10' Heartland rods with the twilli tip are gathering cob webs in the garage. Once I switched to the shorter roller rods, running wire dipsey's is a joy. I can also put a lot of leverage on those 30 pound kings in Lake Ontario without a lot of effort. I find it much easier to keep heavy tension on the fish with these set up. I cannot keep as much tension on a big king with the 10' rods. Less tension = more lost fish!
  22. I think the salmon in Big "O" are already starting to quiver with fear as this great news, does spread fast. Can't wait to see the new ride trolling by. Best of luck with it!!!! John
  23. Tim; Nice clean set up! Where did you get the bars?
  24. I did not know that Patterson had Aids??? Thanks for sharing this important information. As we all know he is only rivaled by Bill "Bubba" Clinton in his extramartial affairs. Wonder which skank gave the aids to him?
  25. Big Easy: We are in violent agreement, great post!!!! I am with you all the way. I am soooooo tired of paying for people who never plan on working, & do plan on collecting from the working public through the political handout system (welfare, etc.).
