  2. The scupper valves on my old penn yan were a pain, i replaced them a few times, one side always let more water in then the other when standing on that side even when changed, never felt safe with them. My new penn yan does not have them, one less worry. It does suck what happened but no one was hurt.
  3. Joe, here is the stingray dirty white boy Rob
  4. Same out of the Genny yesterday, got 60 degree water all the down to 130 ft down. managed to pull 1 of those kings sitting on the bottom, nice silver 19 lb'er, other than that they were lazy. Did not venture out any deeper than 250 but the chatter on the radio was a steady bite of teenage kings and steelies out in 400 plus.
  5. YT, browns do hit flies " the reverse fly" ask your brother about it, 2 weeks ago at Sandy.

  8. Not sure about the thermocline on the DS500X, my Raymarine C80 has it, but it appears it does have speed and temp. http://www.raymarine.com/productdetail. ... &section=2

  10. Gambler, lol. I am working on more myself, just bought another 400'. got a good price on a shimano tk 800, so will try it out
  11. i think you need another copper set up, 7 is not enough
  12. Nice report Joe. Seems to be alot of steelies being caught this year. I am thinking of fishing out of sandy this weekend I will give you call. congrats on the new grandson Rob
  13. They probably saw all the genny light cans in your boat and were wondering how someone can drink that beer
  14. yeah if you are running it down the chute you need to get it out of there quick when fighting a fish. At least you are getting fish on the riggers. leadcores, wire and copper have taken all of our bigger fish this year so far. Plus you need a tangle every once in a while it makes things interesting Rob
  15. Jon, put a 50 ft leader on. You can put out as much colors as you want. 10 colors will get you down approx. 50 ft or so. lately for us 7 color has been hot for steelhead. Rob
  16. Ray, could not of said it better myself
  17. Shade, what was the name of your boat? we were in the same area both days, went 9 for 12 for the weekend with are box mostly being steelhead, 1 8 lb king, a 8 lb atlantic and a laker, just could not get those fish down by the bait to fire, our leadcores and cheaters took most of the fish. We had a decent 1st day out there but yesterday we struggled with only 3 fish
  18. Tim, we fished just east of the plant for the pro am and it was the same picture in that depth a lot of bait and hooks, but it was tough to get them to hit. had a screamer on late morning in 70 fow of water off spin doctor/ fly so it appears they may be kings. We did land a nice atlantic around 8 lbs and nice 10 lb steelie in that depth. Rob
