  3. Saw a couple of pretty decent bucks last night on the Parkway... It doesn't take mcuh to get the heart pumping!!
  4. I'm with you... I like proof... exageration gets the best of everyone at times.. I always like when my hunitng buddies will say, "you should have seen the hughe 10 pt. I saw"... Oh yeah how far was it? "150 yards"... They all squint like crazy when we are watching TV at night, but can count tines at 150 yards... pretty good...
  5. YT, Thanks, that is good info... I was going to ask about turning as well, but you answered that... You ever have 2 on the same side fire at the same time?
  6. What sort of differnce do you maintain in setting between high and low wire to keep them away from one another.. Do you run one at something like 1.5 and the other at 3? Can you run one at 2 and one at 3 and keep them out of one another?
  7. Landshark. I think your new call name should be "Missouri"
  8. My camp is near Nunda... When you say a weak mix of roundup, can you be more specific as to the specific % of roundup you use or how much roundup to 25 gallons of water? I have heard others mention this technique and that it works... I am assuming that the clover starts to brown, but then bounces back... YOu mentioned that you have a pond... I had an acre pond put in a couple of years ago... It is about 15 feet deep.. We put some rainbows and minnows in last spring.. Everything looked great... clouds of minnows everywhere and the rainbows grew from 4 inches to 13 inches by may of this year... Then, I started seeing "clouds" of algae and the fish started dying. The algae seemed to be suspended in the water... I am almost thinking it must have been brought into the pond by the geese... I have since put some barley straw in the pond and that seems to be preventing any future issues, but the damage has been done to some extent... Have you had any similar issues? any solutions?
  9. Yes.. It is addictive, but gets expensive, so that kind of controls how much I can do... Fertilizer has gone up so much in the past couple of years!!! I planted 2.5 acres of Brassica last Monday and the recent rains have it sprouting already... I wish I had more time!!! Mowing seems to be a critical step, as I have not really found a good way to get rid of the weeds and grasses... Have tried a couple different kinds of herbicide without any real luck.... I think part of the problem is that there is always a constant in flow of new seed everytime the wind blows... It is really fun trying new stuff.. This year we put in a bunch of buckwheat and Barley... The Turks really seem to like both.... I think part of it is they like snacking on the bugs that it holds... Where's your camp?
  10. I'm with you, always fish the temperature first... Have wasted a lot of time trying to get those high fish to bite, without any success... I guess that is why they call it fishing..
  11. Bill, Just out of curiosity, were you marking the fish up higher out of temp? I am just curious to see what led to you bring the riggers up out of temperature...
  12. Read today's report from the Oak... http://www.attheoak.net/fishrpt.html I know where I would go...
  13. No updates since Monday.. Is it just my PC or is everyone seeing the same thing?
  14. 11day carry over in June... You got to love that!!
  15. The $1,000 a day derby was really fun... Used to by the season pass and it made it interesting evrytime out... They ran out of money and that put and end to that... Sure would be fun to find a way to get one back up and running... $500 a day derby? Al least you can pay for a tank of gas and beer for the day (...Although Ray might not have any money left for gas....)..
  16. It seems like the lignting turns the big fish on... I can recall a time off of Shipbuilders when a buddy and I got caught in a nasty storm... We were hammering some huge browns one after another... We kept saying we were going to pull them and go and the rods kept firing... We weren't resetting, but what ever was in the water got hit... After all rods were clear, my buddy told me to look over and the hair on his arms was standing up... Needless to say we made a bee line for the bay.. Felt lucky to get in safe and sound...
  17. Did that fish fit in the net???? Welcome aboard!!
  18. This is a well maintained and slighty used (low hours) 2004 Tracker Targa with a 60 HP Mecrury Engine. Very wide boat for it's length and provides a great platform to fish off of.. Includes a 2004 Factory Trailer, Raymarine DS500x Fish finder, MinKota bow mount Trolling Motor and two Big John Rod Holders... Also includes all original equipment and functionality provided by Tracker when I purchased this boat new... I will throw in all of the other equipment I have as well (anchor and line, ropes, fenders, etc...).. The boat has always been stored inside in winters and looks great. $8,900 PM me with any questions..
  19. I have a 500# 3pt. fertilizer/seed spreader for sale.. It is made by Cosmo and was purchased at Tractor Supply for $450+... It has only been used a few times and works great. It is in really good shape (see pics)... It is perfect for fertilizing and seeding food plots... $325 PM with any questions
  20. 10 to 15 years ago, I would have put Webter Park/Hedges area up against any where east or west in terms of numbers and quality of fish... I fished Sodus, Pultneyville, Port Bay and 100 Island areas, but once I got the hang of the area , jsut east of rochester, there was no better place to me... Just my opinion
