  1. When I received the call early this morning, I was very excited for Tommy and his family. He is a great guy and one hell of a mechanic. The creek was not the same without him this summer. It will be great to see his smiling face around the marina next summer.

  3. I would at least have it looks at Jack. Although, replacing an impellor early is not always a bad idea. IBay is really bad for muscles. I have my boat on Sandy now and barley have any at the seasons end. I wonder if the creek flow has something to do with it.
  4. The problem is with the muscles in the larva stage They get sucked into the drive and grow in your drive. I had the same issue years ago when I kept my boat on Ibay. Mine died over the winter and the shells killed my 1 year old impellor.
  5. Congrats guys!
  6. Nice job Mike!
  7. Standing room only!
  8. Which one? I got a kick out of both!
  9. They could raise significantly more fall stockers to make up the difference in survival rate. Would they have enough room in the hatchery for the extra fish? Would it save the DEC money in their budget? Who knows.
  10. Follow Alexandra Morton on Facebook. She is an advocate for wild salmon in BC Canada. There is a huge push to rid the West Coast of salmon farms due to the harm they are doing to wild salmon stocks. Pretty interesting stuff. It is sad to see the Canadian Government choose greed over wild salmon.
  11. It is 15" high. There is a big flat rock at the marina I keep my boat at. The water is usually way below that rock by now. It is not hat far below it at all. Also out weir at work is usually way above the water line at this time of the year. It is only 12" above the water on the down stream side. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. The forecasted level is going to be back to the normal levels in December according to the Army Corps website. Lake Erie is going to be high again and Huron and Michigan are going to be higher next year in the spring than this spring.
  13. Approximately 15" higher.
  14. He said just walleye.
  15. The plan is part to blame Scott. When triggers were met to make changes, they did not. It is a comedy of errors. Plain and simple, if we didn't get the rains, Plan 2014 or not, we would not have flooded to the extent we did. Plan 2014 levels were supposed to top out above the historical average by less than a foot not 3'.
  16. He was going to give them a call.
  17. He said they ranged from 12" up to mid 20" range.
  18. You can blame the Government to a point but we received an EXTRA 7.12" of rain from March to July. Over the Lake Ontario drainage basin that's lots of water. The dam holds back the water and the IJC controls the outflows but mother nature is a huge piece of the puzzle. Blame the government all you want but they cant be fully to blame. If we had normal rainfall would the lake have flooded? If we had below rainfall would the lake have flooded? I think not......
  19. With the amount of rain we received this spring in a short duration, snow melt on tug hill and Lake Erie being well above the historical average, you can't just blame the dam. Even if the dam was not there, the St Lawrence can only let so much water out. With all the tributaries around the lake, the lake would still rise. Maybe not to the extent it did this year but it would still rise. The IJC could have let more water through the dam but shipping is apparently more important that thousands of home owners on Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence. Once the lake hit trigger levels, the IJC did not follow their own plan. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Honeoye walleye die off? My buddy was just at Sandy Bottom Beach and said there was 20+ dead walleye on the beach. Has anyone heard anything about a die off and the reasoning?
  21. Nature did have some part in the flooding. Erie being high this spring and way above average rainfall was caused by nature not the Dam. The Dam and regulation of the water level are part of the cause too. If Erie was not high and we had average or below average rainfall, this would not have happened. One of my biggest problems with the flooding was the new water level plan. They did not follow their own plan. When the lake reached certain levels, there were steps that were supposed to be followed and they did not.
  22. Knowing that the ticket is going to get thrown out does not help deter people from breaking the law down there.
